Netflix Is Adding A Ton Of Great Horror Titles In September

If you're a big fan of horror and subscribe to Netflix, you'll have a lot to choose from when new movies and TV shows get added to the platform next month.

Even though there are a few horror movies heading to the big screen next month – It: Chapter Two seems to be the most noteworthy of the bunch, despite some negative first impressions – it’s hard to deny the allure of putting on some comfy clothes, lazing around on your couch, and watching a few scary stories without having to shell out any more money.

In this regard, Netflix has been killing it as of late. Aside from the ever-popular Stranger Things, the streaming giant has been known to distribute horror films as well. In fact, one, in particular, was so disturbing to some viewers that they ended up getting sick. Just last month, they added a few more notable movies as well, including Cloverfield, Scream 3 and The Book of Eli.

Netflix has no plans to slow down, either, with plenty of spooky films and TV shows coming to the platform in September. Some of the more standout titles include 2000’s American Psycho, the third season of the Scream TV show (which aired over a span of three days in July), and the ninth season of The Walking Dead.

To find out what horror movies and TV shows are heading to Netflix next month, check out the full list below:

Available on September 1st:

  • American Psycho (2000)
  • Scream (Season 3)
  • The Last Exorcism
  • The Walking Dead (Season 9)

Available on September 13th:

  • Head Count – This 2018 film follows a group of teenagers who unknowingly summon a paranormal monster while taking a weekend trip to Joshua Tree desert. The presence is able to shapeshift and mimic their appearances and seeks to separate them into groups of five in order to complete a deadly ritual.

Available September 24th:

  • American Horror Story: Apocalypse

Available September 27th:

  • In the Shadow of the Moon (Netflix Original Film)

In 1988, Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook), hungry to become a detective, begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. But when the killer’s crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke’s obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity.

So, that’s the full list of all the horror goodies coming to Netflix in September, and there’s definitely enough on offer to please genre fans. We’re curious, though, of these new arrivals, which are you most looking forward to watching? As always, drop us a comment down below with your thoughts.
