Kit Harington’s Black Knight Will Eventually Join The New Avengers

Kit Harington's Black Knight, debuting in 2020's The Eternals, will eventually join the roster of the New Avengers, We Got This Covered has heard.

There’s no Avengers 5 coming in Phase 4, with Kevin Feige explaining that it’s important for the franchise to refresh itself before another big team-up movie. And the MCU is definitely about to get a fresh load of new superheroes over the next few years. Just one of many is Kit Harington’s Black Knight, the MCU’s first British hero, who’ll debut in next year’s The Eternals

As Feige himself has hinted, Marvel has big plans for Black Knight and part of those plans is for him to join the roster of the New Avengers later down the line. That’s what We Got This Covered has heard from our sources, at least – the same ones who told us the character was coming to the MCU back in April. Apparently, once the rebooted team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes forms, likely in Phase 5, we can expect Harington’s Dane Whitman to be a part of it.

Of course, we’ve previously brought you the news that Marvel already has an idea of which heroes will feature on the New Avengers team. From what we’ve been told, it’ll be a mix of familiar characters – the second generation Avengers introduced in Phase 2 and after – as well as heroes we’re about to meet in Phase 4.

Excluding Whitman, the roster will reportedly be Captain Marvel, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Jane Foster’s Thor, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Shang-Chi, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Wasp and Blade. Spider-Man was also part of that line-up, but that’s not going to happen now due to the Sony/Disney split.

It makes a lot of sense for Black Knight to join the Avengers in the MCU though, as the character has a long history of being part of the team in the comics. He’s even led them on occasion. With a Wakandan warrior, a Chinese hero and now a Brit, the New Avengers look to have much more of an international feel than the original squad and we can’t wait to see them form on the big screen.
