Casting rumors for the film adaption of Orson Scott Card’s novel Ender’s Game have been heating up recently, with tons of big names attached to the film.

Hugo‘s Asa Butterfield will play Ender, the boy genius recruited by the government to terminate invading aliens, and it has been announced that Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin will join him on screen.

Steinfeld will play Petra Arkanian, Ender’s right hand man, and Breslin has signed on as Valentine, Ender’s older sister. Ford joins the cast as Colonel Hyram Graff, trainer of male recruits at Ender’s prestigious military academy.

I’m glad this film is cultivating such a strong cast. I’m thrilled about Ford and Steinfeld in particular, because they seem perfect for their roles. We’ll have to wait a while to see just how perfect they are, because Ender’s Game won’t hit theaters until March of 2013.

What do you think of this casting news? Who would you cast instead? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
