Hugh Jackman Takes The Villain Role In Joe Wright’s Pan
It appears that Javier Bardem has passed on the role of Blackbeard in Joe Wright’s Peter Pan prequel, the aptly titled Pan, as Variety is reporting that Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to play the film's main villain. The good news doesn’t stop there, either. Jason Fuchs script has landed itself on the 2013 Black List of the best unproduced screenplays, which likely means that we’re in for a treat with this one when it hits theatres on June 26th, 2015.

Joaquin Phoenix Might Play Lex Luthor In Batman vs. Superman
After delivering an excellent performance for Warner Bros. in Her, it seems as if the studio wants to work with the actor again as they have offered him the role of the villain in Batman vs. Superman. Though there's no confirmation just yet, sources are saying the role is that of Lex Luthor. Apparently, Phoenix has not accepted and according to Variety, "it's still very early in the process."

Surprisingly Impressive First Trailer For Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
I'll be the first to admit that I didn't care much for Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I thought it was incredibly overrated and quite frankly, a bit boring (aside from the last act). Hate on me all you want, but I didn't enjoy it very much. I felt that while the parts with the apes were pretty good, every time the film focused on human actors it quickly became a bore. So, it was with a considerable degree of hesitation that I sat down to watch the first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the upcoming sequel directed by Matt Reeves.

PETA Wants Apes Out Of Hollywood, Slams The Wolf Of Wall Street
In Martin Scorsese's upcoming film The Wolf of Wall Street, there's a scene that features a young chimpanzee named Chance, who is owned by the Rosaire family. The Rosaire family, for those that don't know, operate a traveling circus and have been cited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for multiple violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act. In the weeks leading up to the release of The Wolf of Wall Street, PETA wrote a letter to Scorsese and DiCaprio, urging them to remove that scene from the film and to never work with great apes again.

Red Band Trailer For 22 Jump Street Finds The Boys At College
Released in 2012 to much success, the 21 Jump Street reboot was one of the most entertaining comedies to hit theatres in a long time. Led by Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, with directing team Phil Lord and Chris Miller behind the camera, a sequel was a no-brainer and with that same foursome (as well as some of the supporting players) returning for round 2, it appears that we're in for another treat with 22 Jump Street.

Matt Damon To Return For Rounders 2, Robert De Niro Wanted For Villain Role
A couple of years ago The Weinstein Company and Miramax reached a deal that would allow TWC to move forward with sequels to some of their older titles. Unfortunately, nothing really came of that deal and it seemed as if we would never see follow-ups to some of our favorite films. This week, however, things look to be picking up again. With new capital and new investors, several of these long-gestating projects are finally going to head into production.

Avoid An Awkward Holiday With The Boys From That Awkward Moment
It's not too often that we find ourselves with a really great R-rated comedy, which is why I have high hopes for That Awkward Moment. Hitting theatres on January 31st, the film features three of Hollywood's hottest young actors: Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, as they attempt to navigate the daunting NYC social scene, which of course leads to a lot of embarrassment.
