John Travolta, Uma Thurman And Blake Lively Join Savages
Oliver Stone has added three solid individuals to his upcoming film Savages. Deadline reports that John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Blake Lively have all signed on. The trio joins an already stellar cast that includes Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro. The film, which was picked up by Universal, is based on Don Winslow's best selling novel. The film centres on Kitsch's and Johnson's characters who are two best friends that are marijuana growers who get in serious trouble with the cartel. Blake Lively will play their girlfriend and Uma Thurman will be her mom. Hayek and Del Toro will play members of the cartel and finally, Travolta will take on the role of a DEA agent.

Will Joel Edgerton Star In The Bourne Legacy And Snow White?
If you haven't gotten used to Joel Edgerton's name yet, or if you just don't know who he is, then I suggest familiarizing yourself with him ASAP. He'll be starring in Warrior which hits this summer and looks fantastic but more importantly, he could find himself heading up two very big movies, The Bourne Legacy and Snow White and The Huntsman. Vulture is telling us that Universal is looking to lock Edgerton down for both films. The studio's only hesitation is that he may not be a big enough name to play Bourne, which I agree with. Although, as /Film points out, if he's big enough for Snow White and The Huntsman, he should be big enough for Bourne.

L.A. Noire Trailer Shows You How To Rise Through The Ranks
The gang at Rockstar have been very kind to us lately, dropping tons of L.A. Noire footage. Hitting stores on May 17th for the PS3 and XBOX 360, the game's latest trailer shows off how your character, detective Cole Phelps will rise through the ranks. You'll be able to move through various departments and as you solve cases your detective skills will increase. You'll start as a traffic detective and work your way up to homicide, vice and arson. The trailer also shows off how your partner will help you get around the city and show you the ropes.

30 Minutes Or Less Red Band Trailer
This is the second time that director Ruben Fleischer has found himself in the news today. Earlier today we reported on Josh Brolin joining Fleischer's next film Gangster Squad and now we bring you a red band trailer for Fleischer's upcoming movie 30 Minutes Or Less. With a cast that includes Danny McBride, Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari, you can expect this to be one hell of a comedy. McBride and Ansari are known to be comedic gold and I also find Eisenberg low pro funny. He's already worked with Fleischer on Zombieland (a great film), and I'm excited to see them teaming up again.

Josh Brolin Joins Sean Penn And Ryan Gosling In Gangster Squad
Deadline is bringing us an update on Tales From The Gangster Squad today. It was reported a while back that Warner Bros. had put out offers to both Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling. It seemed like Gosling would join but Penn was a bit iffy since he is also attached to The Last Photograph, with Christian Bale. Turns out scheduling worked out though and both Penn and Gosling will be free and able to star in Tales From The Gangster Squad.

Kate Beckinsale Likely To Join Total Recall
Well isn't that convenient, director Len Wiseman is looking to recruit his wife, Kate Beckinsale, for his Total Recall remake. The two have worked together before on Underworld and Underworld: Evolution. Here, Wiseman is looking to have her take on the role that Sharon Stone made famous in the original, which is the role of Lori. The other female role, that of Melina, is also up for grabs and the two top contenders are said to be Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson. Jessica Biel was previously rumored for the role but it looks like she's out now. The only thing holding Beckinsale back are her commitments to Underworld 4: New Dawn. If she can work out the scheduling though, she'll likely join.

Catherine Zeta-Jones Joins Rock Of Ages
Deadline is reporting that Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined Adam Shankman's Rock Of Ages. Apparently she'll take on a role that was created specifically for the film, the wife of the mayor of LA who is looking to get rid of rock and roll. Zeta-Jones joins a cast which includes Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand and Julianne Hough Speaking on the role, Shankman said "it’s a character that we only really came to in the last month. The character was invented to streamline the stories. She is this hardcore, moral majority, arch-conservative who wants to shut down rock’n roll in the great city of Los Angeles. It’s like the musical gods just blessed us!"

The Way Back Blu-Ray Review
The Way Back is a long journey. It's fairly inspiring, frequently touching but all too often boring and what could have been a dramatic epic that pulls you into a sweeping adventure, turns into a long, drawn out and somewhat dull movie. In many ways, it reminds me of another film, also by Peter Weir. That film is Master and Commander, a film that was originally supposed to be a trilogy but only ended up as a stand alone film. Why you ask? Well, like The Way Back, it had potential. Big scale, grand scope, strong cast and potential to be an epic adventure. But also like The Way Back, it was slow, tedious and not terribly exciting.
