Any James Bond fan should be instantly familiar with the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion (better known as SPECTRE), the super villain group led by Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Unfortunately, legal battles have kept them off the screen (at least in EON films) since Diamonds Are Forever. Though many had given up hope that we'd ever see them return, the disputes seem to have been settled this week and we may get to see Blofeld show up in future James Bond film.
When it was first rumored that season 9 of How I Met Your Mother would take place entirely over the course of one weekend, I had a feeling there would be quite a few flashbacks. After all, there's only so many episodes you can pull out of 72 hours of life. But for as many flashbacks as I thought we'd see, I didn't think there'd be anything quite like Platonish.
The Robocop remake is without a doubt one of my most anticipated movies of 2014. Taking the story and concept of the Paul Verhoeven classic and adding in modern effects, well, that's the sort of remake I can get behind. So far, the promotion for this one hasn't disappointed, and despite how exciting the two trailers that we've seen are, this new poster that we received today may be my favorite piece yet.
Just yesterday we heard that Nightwing may show up in Warner Bros.' upcoming superhero blockbuster Batman Vs. Superman, and that the studio is already in the process of casting the role. Almost instantly rumors began swirling about who could possibly be in consideration, and now the folks over at The Wrap say they've been told that Girls star Adam Driver is currently the top pick.
After the rush of promotion we got over the summer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it seemed that things couldn't get any better for Spidey fans, as day after day there was a new image or a new promotional clip to satisfy our senses. That obviously couldn't last all the way until the film's release, so promotion slowed significantly once fall began. It's too soon to say if this is the start of another rush or simply an isolated incident, but today we have three new images showcasing the hero, the villain, and the love interest in Marc Webb's second Spider-Man movie.
A few years ago, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia gave us a pretty awesome Christmas special, showing that just because everything about the characters on a show is depraved, that doesn't mean they can't bring holiday spirit. But plenty of shows have made Christmas episodes, many with a new one every season. A Thanksgiving episode on the other hand, well far fewer shows have attempted that, and even fewer have made a Thanksgiving episode where none of the characters are thankful for anything at all. Because of that, The Gang Squashes Their Beefs should be a new holiday classic, if for nothing else than the novelty of the concept.
A lot of How I Met Your Mother fans spent the last couple weeks theorizing that The Lighthouse would be the episode where the Mother would finally reappear. Sure enough, earlier today Craig Thomas Tweeted that the Mother would be back in this episode, meaning everyone who had been anxiously awaiting her arrival had even more of a reason to be excited for tonight. And for those fans who didn't just want just a glimpse of the Mother, but rather some significant involvement for her, The Lighthouse will not disappoint.
With a movie titled Last Love, it's natural to expect a love story to end all love stories. A tale of two people finally finding something more than what they want - what they need. But instead of the love story it seems would result from that title and this set-up, director Sandra Nettelbeck simply teases a more traditional romantic film, and instead delivers a tale of platonic love between a man who needs someone to care, and a kind woman who cares enough to be that someone.
With only a little more than a month to go until The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug hits theaters, it's likely that a lot more promotion for the film is going to be coming our way soon. Today, it looks like that final rush of promotion has started as we now have seven new character posters for the next movie in Peter Jackson's Middle-earth franchise.
November is here, fall is in full swing, and most importantly, studios are rolling out their hottest sequels and more award contenders. November is almost always a great time for movies, and this year doesn’t look like it’ll be any different, meaning you'll probably want to spend every second possible watching as many movies as you can.
