It seems like the growing list of villains for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is never going to reach its end. Almost weekly we hear word of another actor who may be in the film, and the sinister character he or she might be playing. Today's rumor is an interesting, totally unexpected one, as Jim Carrey may be the next big-name actor to have a showdown with our friendly neighborhood web-slinger.
Until Batman is officially cast, we can look forward to a new rumor a day regarding who is in contention to play the Dark Knight in Batman Vs. Superman. We here at We Got This Covered don't like to disappoint, so for all you fans anxiously awaiting the next name to add to the ever-growing list of potential Bruce Waynes, we've got another interesting pick today. The official Twitter account for Scott Adkins recently posted that the English actor and martial artist has already auditioned for Batman.
Okay, so Aquaman isn't the most uh... well-respected member of the DC comic universe. In fact, he's become a bit of a joke for many fans, mostly due to his notoriety for not being all that cool. Fortunately for the character, and us fans who have a soft spot in our hearts for the Aquatic Ace, that changed a bit when Geoff Johns was handed the reins and crafted a pretty sweet solo title as part of DC's New 52 series. Now, that change from lame to totally hip may continue further, as it looks like the character will be getting an animated feature from Warner Bros.
Some days no news is news. One thing many were excited about at Disney's D23 expo was the Star Wars and specifically Star Wars: Episode VII news that would be coming our way. Well it turns out, other than Alan Horn's insistence that the movie will still land in theaters in 2015, no news from a galaxy far, far away will be coming out of the expo.
The traditional cop movie is going to have some angst. That's a standard for the genre. If people took movies as accurate depictions of the world, that would mean we have to assume every officer is walking around the police station in a melodramatic haze, dwelling on the things of the past while having little to no hope for a better future. Nick Murphy's Blood does nothing to subvert that mold, but rather, delves farther into it, giving a bleak look at the life of a police family, and the weight their actions may have on their souls.
Most who saw Man Of Steel noticed that although Lex Luthor never actually shows up in the movie, he was very much a part of that world. From skyscrapers to semi-trucks, almost everything was emblazoned with the LexCorp name. It doesn't seem like much of a stretch to assume Zack Snyder was setting the stage for Lex to show up in a future Superman film, possibly the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman. Because of this, casting rumors have been rampant across the web, but now a hint at who will be playing the villainous Luther is coming from one of the actors himself: Mark Strong.
Serving as the screenwriting debut for Cormac McCarthy, one of the greatest authors alive, Ridley Scott's The Counselor has been one of the most anticipated films of 2013 for good reason. Aside from the two names already listed, the film boasts an all-star cast with A-listers such as Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, and many, many more. As if you needed another reason to be excited for this movie, a new trailer has released, and it does not disappoint.

As a director, Joe Swanberg is best known for his micro-budget films about relationships in his trademark mumblecore style. His newest film Drinking Buddies follows that formula, but it has a bigger budget than he's had in the past, and a cast filled with much bigger names such as Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick, and Ron Livingston. It's a romantic story that deviates from the typical, overplayed formula, and makes its mark in the small, intimate moments between the characters.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have been on a hot streak this year, working on Star Trek Into Darkness and Now You See Me, both of which turned out to be solid movies. They've got Ender's Game coming out in a few months too, but what many are more excited about is The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which the duo wrote the screenplay for. Because of their work in the Spidey universe, they've had to field many questions about where they see the franchise going, and it turns out they'd like to see Venom show up at some point in the series.
