Welcome to We’ve Got The Deals. In this column, we’ll be bringing you the best steals, deals, and streaming opportunities from all around the web. To kick this week off, we’ve got some great movies coming to Blu-Ray for the first time, a great animated film now available on streaming, and a few other Blu-Rays that you won’t want to miss. Check it out below.

1) Poltergeist

Poltergeist-movie

One of the all-time greatest horror flicks, Tobe Hooper’s Poltergeist first hit theaters in 1982, and it has been scaring audiences ever since. In 2008, a special edition Blu-Ray book packaging of the film was released, featuring some excellent special features. Now, Amazon has that special edition on sale for only $12.49, a clean 50% discount. If you haven’t seen the film, you’re desperately missing out, and if you have, then you know how this is a must-buy for any horror fan’s collection. Also, there’s now word of a remake starring Sam Rockwell, so now’s as good a time as any to refresh yourself on Poltergeist.

2) The Shawshank Redemption

Regarded by some as the greatest movie of all time, there’s no doubt that The Shawshank Redemption is an excellent piece of cinema that everyone should see. It was only released on Blu-Ray for the first time a few years ago, and in 2008 a special edition book packaging Blu-Ray hit shelves. Today, Amazon has that special edition on sale for the excellent price of $11.49. Considering this edition usually goes for $27.98, it’s unlikely you’re going to find it for much cheaper anytime soon.

3) The Place Beyond The Pines

place beyond the pines

Last week we featured the stream of The Place Beyond The Pines, but now, for those of you who are more the hard-copy type, you can own the Blu-Ray of the film for only $22.49. In addition to the excellent movie, this 2 disc set has a digital copy, a DVD, a lot of interesting deleted and extended scenes, plus commentary from director Derek Cianfrance.

This multi-generational epic ran a limited theatrical release this Spring. For many who aren’t near a major city, you may have missed the opportunity to see it in theaters. If you’re unsure of whether to see it, check out our review of the film, and see for yourself just how worth your time it is. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, both of whom are as enjoyable to watch as anyone working right now.

4) To The Wonder

To the Wonder

Terrence Malick’s latest, To The Wonder is brand new to Blu-Ray, and now for only $19.96, you can own a copy of the film. Unless you were lucky enough to be in one of the limited places that it played, there’s a good chance you’ve never had the opportunity to see it before. Worry not, because as is typical with Malick, every shot is absolutely beautiful, making the film totally worth your time, even though the plot itself recieved some mixed reviews. Elsewhere, the Blu-Ray is selling for close to $30, but Amazon has it marked down 33%, so now is definitely the time to buy.

5) Bond 50: The Complete 22 Film Collection

I’m going to go ahead and assume you’re a fan of James Bond. I’ll call that a safe assumption, since I’ve hardly met anyone ever who doesn’t love Britain’s best super-spy. From Connery to Craig, 007 has been providing the thrills for the last 50 years, and to commemorate that major anniversary, a 23-disc set was released last year featuring every movie pre-Skyfall and some excellent special features.

Some shied away from the purchase due to its initial $300 price tag, but now, Amazon has the set marked down to only $109.99. That’s an incredible 63% discount. Get this set shipped to your home as soon as you can, and assuming the delivery man neither shakes nor stirs the package, you’ll be enjoying as much Bond as you can handle in no time at all.

6) Epic

From the creators of Ice Age, Epic tells the tale of one teen who must save a magical world from evil warriors. If animated films are your thing, you can’t go wrong with this one, especially considering its positive Rotten Tomatoes score, great voice cast (Colin Farrell and Josh Hutcherson mainly) and the absolutely beautiful animation that drives the film. If you didn’t get an opportunity to see this in theaters, but want to have it on your home computer now, Amazon Instant has the stream available for you.
