Originally from Juneau, Alaska, I have had an interest in journalism since an early internship at a local radio station, KTOO FM, in high school. From there, I got a bachelor's degree in English Literature from University of Alaska Southeast, where I achieved Co-Outstanding Graduate in English. I later moved to Portland, Oregon where I completed a Master's in Multimedia Journalism from University of Oregon. While enrolled in the program, I co-produced an award-winning documentary about the 2017 Eagle Creek wildfire, called "Escape from Eagle Creek," with three other classmates. After working as a community reporter at The Portland Observer newspaper from 2017-2019, I moved on to working as a digital enterprise reporter at KOIN 6 News, where I worked from 2019-2021. Prior to covering entertainment news for WGTC, I covered breaking news stories related to housing and homelessness, the coronavirus pandemic, historic 2020 Oregon wildfires, and racial justice protests.
