Gus Van Sant has been fairly quiet in the past few years, with his only directorial feature being Restless, which was pretty big flop. Recently though, with the hype building for Promised Land, it seems that Van Sant may again be as relevant as he once was. To follow up Promised Land, he has an interesting project in the works: a martial arts superhero film.
In the time leading up to The Dark Knight Rises it was made clear that Christopher Nolan's Batman films would be a trilogy and that would be the extent of his involvement with the character and the universe. However, the ending of the film caused some to again question whether Nolan would indeed be back. After all, how can an ending that opens so many doors have any sense of finality to it, for fans or a filmmaker?
With the way The Dark Knight Rises ended, it was inevitable that there would be some speculation as to whether Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be donning Batman's cape and cowl for either the Justice League film or another Batman reboot.
Lincoln was an excellent portrayal of one of our nation's most famous presidents and Daniel Day-Lewis was superb in the role, almost looking more like the 16th president than Abraham Lincoln did himself. In the wake of such a well-made presidential biopic, the question has to be raised: What other presidents deserve their own, well-made film?
How I Met Your Mother bounced back from a weak string of episodes last week and was able to keep the streak of solid episodes alive with tonight's episode, Twelve Horny Women.
First of all, Twelve Horny Women is an outstanding title. Obviously the plot of this episode was nothing like the plot of the classic film the title pays homage to, but I had a good laugh at the title even before seeing the episode.

It's hard to imagine anyone other than Hugh Jackman donning a set of adamantium claws as Wolverine, but some may remember that Russell Crowe was originally offered the part. Obviously Crowe declined, but it turns out he was vital in Jackman landing the part.
Jake Gyllenhaal may not be the archetypical action star, but with recent films such as End Of Watch and Prince of Persia, his credibility in the genre is growing. He's been frequently listed in casting rumors for various superhero roles, but has yet to land a role as a comic hero. In a recent interview with Short List Gyllenhaal said that although he isn't rushing to don a cape, he's definitely open to the possibility.
So far this season of How I Met Your Mother has been quite a letdown. The plot has slowly winded its way to an abundance of insignificance, while far too few moments of hilarity have been sprinkled in. The season is still young however, so there's still plenty of time for the show to turn it around and have a strong finish worthy of the phenomenal series the fans have come to love.
That headline is not a joke. Robert Pattinson, star of the now completed Twilight Saga, said in a recent interview (posted by IGN) that not only would he love to be in Star Wars: Episode VII, but his character of choice would be Jar Jar Binks.
Eli Roth may be busy directing The Green Inferno, but that doesn't mean he's too busy to continue his role as horror-producer extraordinaire. The project he's currently working on is Jon Watts' Clown, which Empire reports has found two new cast members in Peter Stormare and Laura Allen.
