Thanks to an avid fan and YouTube, a new set video has hit the internet from The Dark Knight Rises. InventHelp's video is a five-minute scene being shot with Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard).
Rufus Sewell is in negotiations to join the growing cast of Alex Proyas' monumental battle epic Paradise Lost. According to Bloody Disgusting, Sewell is circling in on a role in the film which will re-team him with Proyas, as the two worked together on the edgy sci fi/horror Dark City.
The indie cult-themed drama Martha Marcy May Marlene released two intriguing trailers and two new posters today, gearing up for its limited theatrical release on October 21st. The film received positive reviews when it made an appearance at Sundance, and these eerily quiet trailers tease at a disturbing drama.
Richard Gabai's indie supernatural thriller InSight is an atmospheric tale with shades of a modern film noir detective pic. It stars Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints) and Natalie Zea, and is set to hit theaters in a limited release on September 2nd.
Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil is an animated family film that surrounds a kick-ass Red Riding Hood and a secret fairytale agency in what is a cheeky updating of classic fairytale characters. Out on Blu-Ray on August 16th, this CGI Shrek rip-off is less than dazzling, but the Blu-Ray has some interesting extras.
The popular Iron Man franchise saw a little shake up earlier this year when news circled that director Jon Favreau wouldn't be returning to direct Iron Man 3. Instead, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black would be taking the director's chair. He'll also be working closely with screenwriter Drew Pearce on the script in what will reportedly be more of a thriller in the Tom Clancy style, with Iron Man pitted against more realistic villains.
It looks like the Ghost Rider sequel may actually kick some ass. Now that a fierce bullet-spitting trailer and sleek movie poster have hit the net, doubts may be fading regarding the loser-ness of the second installment in this franchise, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
Austin’s 7th annual Fantastic Fest is just around the corner, and the second wave of programming has just been announced. Lars von Trier’s Melancholia is on the docket as well as a slew of martial arts flicks and international horror. Fantastic Fest 2011 celebrates the best in sci fi, horror, supernatural and fantasy films from around the world, and it will descend on Austin on Sept. 22-29.
Putting the campy brilliance of the first Fright Night aside, Dreamworks’ Fright Night remake starring Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell is a vapid horror/comedy thrill ride with some nice 3D effects. The modernized storyline had its share of clever inside jokes at the genre’s expense, but the characters come across one-note and the updated story relies on action thrills and jokes instead of good storytelling. Hitting theaters on August 19th, Fright Night is an easily digested horror that doesn’t rise above being just decent.
Daniel Radcliffe stars in the upcoming horror pic The Woman In Black, which has a new eerie trailer out. Radcliffe co-stars with Ciaran Hinds and Janet McTeer in the ghostly thriller directed by James Watkins (The Descent 2) and set to hit theaters next February.
