This excellent episode of Homeland could have easily been the season finale as all but one loose end has been closed, one that will most likely give us a clear view of where season 3 will head.
After a somewhat sloppy string of episodes following the interrogation episode, Homeland seems to have found its focus again in an episode that blew everything out of the water.
One of the best things Supernatural does from time to time is seamlessly blend the ongoing arc with an effective monster of the week episode; "Hunteri Heroici" was just that.
And so the beginning of the major threat of this season's Homeland has finally been revealed. How big it will become is still kept heavily under wraps, but the peek we've had of each plot line is showing to be extremely promising considering there are still three episodes left. The big question is: what is going on in Brody's mind and where does he stand on this attack?
As intense as this episode of Homeland was, it seems each time Carrie is in contact with Brody, they follow a painfully obvious chain of events that results in some sort of game-changing decision by Brody.
Much like any other episode that is Castiel-centric, A Little Slice Of Kevin makes up for the misstep Supernatural had last week - and the misstep Supernatural had last season.
What seemed like a filler episode with close to nothing being solved, Homeland might have just spoiled the turn of events that will bring it through to season 3. With the lagging thread of Dana's story finally rejoining the main plot, we see what the effect of her relationship with Finn has given us: a reason for Brody to turn once again. In arguably the most experimental episode yet, "The Clearing" is the start of Homeland's answer to the question of Brody's allegiance.
Homeland shows us that it doesn't need to rely on questions of allegiance or psychological trauma to keep us on the edge of our seats with our fists tightly clenched and our jaws wide open. In yet another episode that just keeps giving, not only are we hit with a major terrorist attack, but the slower threads to this story have finally begun to show their paths
Given that Supernatural has been sparse with its introduction of new characters and the fact that the only ones with actual "origin stories" are Dean and Sam, it was definitely a pleasure to see someone else get the treatment that even Castiel didn't get. However, it just never reached the point of us particularly caring for the predicament Benny found himself in.
