The first trailer has been released for Steve McQueen's highly anticipated second directional piece, Shame, starring Michael Fassbender. The film, which won Fassbender the best actor award at the Venice Film Festival, has earned rave reviews thus far and is set for a December release with its guaranteed NC-17 rating.
Horror film legend Tom Savini has nabbed the role of Elvis Brittle in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. Once again Tarantino has chosen an actor that not many other big name directors would consider or even know of, but from reading the script, this again looks to be perfect casting.

Warner Brothers have decided to move the release date for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. Instead of opening on July 13th, 2013, it will now hit theatres on May 10th, 2013. The reason for the shift isn't really known, but it may be to compete with Disney's release of Gore Verbinski's Lone Ranger, which has just had its release date shifted from Deceber 21st, 2012 to May 31st, 2013.
Three episodes into its second season and Boardwalk Empire has been renewed by HBO for a third season. This comes as no surprise as the show has been highly successful thus far, winning numerous awards. On top of this, the show is produced by Martin Scorsese, and run by Terrence Winter, the man behind The Sopranos.
The first trailer has been released for McG's new action rom-com, This Means War, starring Tom Hardy, Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon. This Means War is the story of two CIA agents and best friends, played by Hardy and Pine, who find out they are dating the same woman, played by Witherspoon.
Harper's Bazaar have created a tribute to the master of cinema, Mr. Martin Scorsese. They have done so by recreating iconic scenes from several of the director's films, which has led to some beautiful photography pieces. Possibly the best part of these pieces is the wonderful selection of actors that have taken part in them.
Just yesterday we had confirmation that Gore Verbinski's Lone Ranger was a go, with a February 6th, 2012 start date for production. Today, THR has announced that the film will be released on May 31st, 2013, which makes sense as it's set 3 months later than the original release date of December 21st, 2012 (the production got pushed three months as well).

Robert Redford's new directional effort, The Company You Keep, is definitely a film to see in 2012. While it just begun shooting, we now have some more names to add to the list of excellent cast members. Brendan Gleeson, Anna Kendrick, Terrence Howard, Sam Elliot and Jackie Evancho have all joined the film, which is based on Neil Gordonās book.
