According to Heat Vision, director Kyle Newman, who helmed the Star Wars comedy Fanboys, is developing a new film titled Chewie, which will tell the story of Peter Mayhew, the over-seven-foot English actor who played the Wookiee sidekick to rogue Han Solo in several of the Star Wars films.
Marvel Studios' first short film, The Consultant, which is designed to bridge the gap between The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers, has hit the web (you can check it out here). Included on the upcoming Thor DVD, which will be released on September 13, the film is the first of two shorts Marvel is putting together to lead up to the superhero collective film The Avengers.

Will Smith is being courted to headline James Cameron's production of Fantastic Voyage, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film has been in the planning stages for some time but may be delayed by the loss of its director, Shawn Levy (Date Night), if Smith or another A-list actor doesn't sign on. Levy is said to be considering departing the project if a big-budget actor doesn't agree to star within the next few weeks.
Deadline reports that actress Rosamund Pike (upcoming Johnny English Reborn) is in negotiations to star opposite Tom Cruise in One Shot. To be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film is an adaptation of the Lee Child's bestselling novel of the same name, and features the author's popular protagonist Jack Reacher.
Deadline reports that actor Russell Crowe has signed on to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in Allen Hughes' next film Broken City. The $60 million feature made the 2008 Black List and will be Hughes' feature film directing debut without his brother and partner Albert Hughes (the pair are known in Hollywood circles as The Hughes Brothers and have helmed a number of films together including 2010's The Book of Eli).
Jason Momoa, star of the upcoming Conan the Barbarian, has revealed to Crave Online that he's already written a sequel to the film. In the interview the star was asked what he'd like to do in a potential follow-up to the film, which opens in 2D and 3D theaters on August 19, when he responded “I wrote it,” before adding “we’re waiting to see if they’ll accept it.”

A few days ago, we got our first look at how Mark Ruffalo's incarnation of the Incredible Hulk will appear in the upcoming superhero ensemble film The Avengers (pictured above). Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and producer of the film, recently sat down with the Los Angeles Times and gave a few more details regarding the character's new look in the film.
According to Variety, director Todd Phillips (The Hangover) has secured the film rights to the Rolling Stone Magazine article entitled Arms and the Dudes. Phillips will produce, and may also direct, the film based on the article which tells the true story of two stoners from Miami Beach who became international arms dealers.
