Dexter Review: “This Little Piggy” (Season 8, Episode 5)
I have to say, it's looking like Dexter blew its load just a bit early this week. I didn't have an inkling of what to expect after last week's ending, but I certainly wasn't planning on seeing an end to the Brain Surgeon storyline. Now that Yates is dead and a "happy" ending has been reached, everything feels more uneasy than it did before, especially since Dexter hasn't sworn off Vogel like he promised before.

Dexter Review: “Scar Tissue” (Season 8, Episode 4)
One qualm I've always had with TV shows is that there is always a general lack of surprises. When the episodes per season are numbered, it can be easy to spot trick endings and twists coming from miles away. A few shows have been able to avoid this in the past, and Dexter has always been one of them. I like to think that since this is the final season, anything goes and everyone's lives are up for grabs. But I was proven wrong with the ending of Scar Tissue.

True Blood Review: “Don’t You Feel Me?” (Season 6, Episode 6)
In case you couldn't tell by now, True Blood is a silly show. It's full of quirks, filler plots, bad special effects and cheesy acting. Truth be told though, all of these missteps make the show what it's become, and based on the success it's been seeing (a seventh season was just confirmed last week), I'm not the only fan who thinks so. Don't You Feel Me? is full to bursting with all of these trademark flaws, but the fact that True Blood can keep the momentum going means that it was still a blast to watch.

New Info Released About American McGee’s Alice: Otherlands Short Film
With the announcement that the OZombie Kickstarter has fallen through due to a shortage of donations, American McGee has moved on to more familiar territory, asking fans for donations to fund a new short film titled Alice: Otherlands. Meant to be a continuation of the Alice game series, McGee and his company, Spicy Horse, are asking for $200,000 in donations so they can produce the film.

Dexter Review: “What’s Eating Dexter Morgan?” (Season 8, Episode 3)
If there's one thing that's perfectly clear about this final season, it's that Dexter Morgan is slipping. To be fair, Dexter has always been about the slightly lovable serial killer evading capture, but his secrets are spilling over from every side, and it's getting more difficult to silence those who know. As tense as the situation is getting, though, this week's episode didn't break much new ground. More time was spent retreading old ground rather than pushing forward.

True Blood Review: “F*** The Pain Away” (Season 6, Episode 5)
OK, True Blood, I'll play your game. We're at the literal halfway point of the season, and now you decide to air the most exciting episode you can? Fair enough. For every plodding storyline and redundant "revelation," F*** The Pain Away is full to bursting with actual developments, and it's entertaining as sin. Plus, keeping last week's trend going, the show is finally sexy again.

True Blood Review: “At Last” (Season 6, Episode 4)
This week's episode of True Blood reminded me why it's such a hit with its rabid fanbase, despite the major ups and downs its faced in recent seasons. Even though they're all beautiful and capable, none of the characters ever make their situations better for themselves. Sunday nights have become showcases for what not to do when lives are on the line, and vampires, humans, wolves, shifters and faeries alike all make horrible decisions. Nothing is more entertaining than watching our favorite characters shoot themselves in the foot.
