I'm a writer/editor who's been at the site since 2015. I cover politics, weird history, video games and... well, anything really. Keep it breezy, keep it light, keep it straightforward.
Edward Norton speaking his mind isn't exactly surprising. The actor has a reputation for doing things his own way, attempting to take creative control on films he's worked on and making political statements. Now he's ruffled a few feathers on Twitter after a tweet in which he promoted an article by the New York Times titled "How Has the Electoral College Survived for This Long" and said:
A new Star Wars comic sees Darth Vader return to Naboo and clash with a couple of Prequel characters along the way, which makes for interesting reading.
There are few movies that capture the mid-90s like Mallrats. Whether you find it funny or not, you can't deny that it perfectly portrays the optimistic countercultural mood of the era. Despite this, the film hasn't been referenced too many times in Kevin Smith's expansive View Askewniverse. That's all set to change with Mallrats 2 - aka Twilight of the Mallrats - though, which is apparently ready to begin production once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
When The New Mutants is finally released this month, the Fox X-Men series will have come to an end. But don't think you'll be waiting too long before the mutants are back on the big screen. Disney now owns the rights to the characters and it's inevitable that they'll appear in the MCU sometime in the 2020s. Exactly when that'll be remains a mystery, though you can be assured that there's behind-the-scenes work happening right now on the best way to slot them into the MCU.
We've spent the last few months reporting on the many headaches that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the film and TV industry. But while having almost every big blockbuster delayed is a huge setback, it pales in comparison to the nightmare Broadway is going through. Live shows with packed audiences simply aren't going to happen for the foreseeable future and that (in combination with the already pretty thin profit margins) is causing a lot of misery in the industry.
The Walt Disney Company likes to trumpet their progressive credentials at every opportunity. For example, when two women kissed somewhere in the background of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, they billed it as a big step forward for representation. These tiny gestures have often frustrated fans though, as they're quite rightly argued as being inconsequential additions designed to tick a 'woke' box.
Disney and Lucasfilm have big plans for Star Wars: The High Republic. It'll tell stories set hundreds of years before the events of the Skywalker Saga when the Jedi were at their height. The idea is to give creators more freedom to tell the tales that they want to tell, as fitting new stories into the increasingly busy existing continuity is getting tough.
The CW's Arrowverse line-up was severely affected by the Coronavirus. The Flash and Batwoman saw unexpectedly truncated seasons, there were lengthy midseason delays and their returns were ultimately postponed. But now there's light at the end of the tunnel.
We're proud to bring you the latest in film, TV, video games and comic book news, but we also know you're hungry for information about new and exciting varieties of ants. Just days after we reported on the surprisingly heartwarming story of researchers discovering a colony of cannibal ants in a Soviet nuclear bunker, we now have another tale that's setting the world of myrmecology alight. I'm talking lost, prehistoric, murderous "hell ants."
