It’s been a while now since Tom Holland last dropped one of his patented spoilers, but as the release date of Avengers: Endgame looms closer, the Spider-Man actor just might be getting a little paranoid that he’ll let something slip.
Though the twelfth season of Doctor Who is still a long wait away, it seems that the titular space traveler and her latest team are already back in front of cameras, with the BBC confirming earlier today that the sci-fi series “is back in production!” The announcement comes to us via the show’s official Twitter account, which also shared a photo of Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, Jodie Whittaker, and Tosin Cole on set.
Though Henry Cavill may not be ready yet to talk openly about his future in the DCEU (or possible lack thereof), Shazam! lead Zachary Levi at least had some encouraging words to say about the actor, arguing that while we haven’t seen Cavill’s version of Clark Kent on our screens for a while now, the Justice League star is still our Superman.
When it was first confirmed several years ago that Dwayne Johnson would take on the role of Black Adam, many assumed that he’d be the main antagonist of the first Shazam! movie, given the pair’s comic book history. Nonetheless, it eventually turned out that Warner Bros. had other ideas in mind, and according to director David F. Sandberg, the villain was already off the table when he initially signed on for the project back in 2017.
While Zachary Levi’s DCEU debut in Shazam! is still a few months away from release, the actor isn’t exactly new to superhero cinema. Many have turned to the Twitter account of Mark Hamill with the hope of getting some intel on the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, and almost all of them have come up empty-handed, with the actor taking pleasure in trolling his followers with fake titles and fake trailer drops, while staying tight-lipped on the upcoming trilogy-closer.
Though Henry Cavill hasn’t played the part of Superman since 2017’s Justice League, the character undoubtedly remains the actor’s most famous role, and the team at GQ Germany seems well aware of this, presenting the headline “Superman! Henry Cavill” in big bold lettering on the cover of their latest issue.
With the latest Halloween movie out now on Blu-ray and DVD, fans will have access to a whole helping of special features, including seven scenes that didn’t make the final cut. But if the unused footage left you with a few lingering questions, a new video from FoundFlix provides a little insight.
As the various marketing material and tie-in products around the upcoming Avengers: Endgame indicate, the Avengers: Infinity War sequel will see Thanos once more play a key role in the action. But seeing how we’ve already had a whole two-and-a-half-hour movie of Avengers vs. the Mad Titan, the question is raised of how this next film will keep the character relevant without giving us more of the same.
