Universal Pictures may have given up on The Dark Tower, but director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer have not. In an interview with the New York Post, Grazer said they are currently “trying to get outside financing to make it, and distribute it through a major [studio].” Javier Bardem is still attached to the role of Roland Deschain.

Here, he creates a film set during the Elizabethan era and explores the conspiracy theory on whether or not William Shakespeare really did write all his plays. According to this theory, the person responsible for his famed work was Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford.
