When you find yourself in the theater watching Avengers: Infinity War this weekend, you'll likely see more superheroes on the big screen than ever before. But I'll tell you one Marvel character who's been around forever that you won't see, and that's Namor AKA The Sub-Mariner.
In a matter of days, many of us will have finally seen Avengers: Infinity War, the mega-sized epic that serves as the culmination of everything the Marvel Cinematic Universe had built toward for the past ten years. Well, at least those fortunate enough to find a ticket to a Friday showing, that is. Don’t forget, a massive opening weekend is expected.
By now, I’m sure many of you know to stay after the credits whenever seeing the latest Marvel movie and, likewise, wonder where the heck everyone else is going when they begin to roll. I mean, haven’t people learned their lesson on numerous occasions since the first Iron Man flick debuted back in 2008?
Even though it sometimes goes into hibernation for a few years, Tremors remains one such cult favorite series that refuses to die. And believe it or not, it appears there's much, much more to come after the next entry into the franchise - A Cold Day in Hell - has its run.
In my view, something that's helped to hold the interest of those following Marvel movies in recent years has been a clear picture of where the line of flicks will be headed. If there's one thing the Marvel Cinematic Universe has excelled at, it's making household names out of characters who were largely unfamiliar to the mainstream before they showed up in their current iterations. When I think of the character that is Hannibal Lecter, the face of Anthony Hopkins is what immediately springs to mind. After all, the veteran actor portrayed the icon for three films, and even won an Academy Award for his performance in 1991's The Silence of the Lambs. To me, that was the best of the lot, but I'm not one to shy away from the two that followed.
I don’t know what’s been up with Zack Snyder as of late, but the guy sure has been enjoying sharing all kinds of interesting trivia pertaining to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League in recent memory. Sometimes, he may provide answers regarding things that have puzzled moviegoers for the past couple years, or he may declassify some cool pictures. Either way, he’s doing a fine job of keeping DC fans engaged.
Despite all the complaints that were aimed at Man of Steel regarding the levels of destruction it boasted, I stood my ground back in 2013 saying that it'd been the Superman movie I'd been waiting for. In short, it retold Big Blue's story for the modern era, played host to some spectacular action sequences, and featured the perfect lead in Henry Cavill.
