In just one week, all will be right in the world once Gotham returns with its midseason premiere. But before we get there, an advance synopsis released by the network teases us with what's to come in the not too distant future. Such is the norm as these babies often drop several weeks ahead of time, it offers up some minor, but juicy, spoilers.
Even though the Blair Witch film franchise hasn't been among the most exploited in the horror genre, the influence it's had is undeniable. Seriously, I can remember when the first flick debuted in cinemas back in 1999, simultaneously becoming a cultural phenomenon and being one of those to spearhead the "found footage" movement. That's right kids, you pretty much owe this baby a debt of gratitude if you enjoy anything with "Paranormal Activity" in the title.
Despite being a lifelong fan of the X-Men, I must confess that I had some reservations in anticipation of The Gifted. To put it mildly, I wondered if such an endeavor could be capably handled on a major network, especially considering that its roster was made up of mostly D-list characters. Thankfully, my worries were put to bed as Bryan Singer, Matt Nix and the rest of the crew proved that this franchise has so much depth that it makes failure difficult.
If you're even remotely familiar with the character of Aquaman, then you're well aware of how he's not the useless wimp that shows like The Big Bang Theory and Family Guy make him out to be. In fact, he's quite badass, something that Jason Momoa has already gotten across with his scene stealing performance in Justice League.
These days, a superhero's costume can be one of the most crucial elements when it comes to selling tickets to any given movie in the genre. Really, it may sound kind of inconsequential, but do you think anybody in today's age is going to lay down cash to see a character if they think they look stupid? Needless to say, we've come a long way from the loose-fitting spandex and high trunks featured in the Batman film serials from the 1940's.
“We are the Flash.”
When Iris West said those words to Barry Allen earlier this season, a sizable chunk of the viewing audience let out a groan similar to what they’d normally let loose whenever Felicity Smoak offers up such a gem. But, in truth, Iris was just showing moral support for her super husband.
Aside from a guest shot made by John Constantine - who'll be back again before you know it - perhaps the biggest talking point amongst Arrowverse fans regarding Legends of Tomorrow since it came back from winter hiatus has been that of Kid Flash joining the team.
For me, it always makes for an interesting read whenever you see the immediate fallout explored after a major event or story arc concludes. Really, I like to be assured that there are consequences and actually happen to be a comic book reader that's not opposed to change.
With a solo Venom movie finally being made a reality this coming fall, it only makes sense that Marvel place as much focus as they can on one of their most popular anti-heroes throughout 2018. And with a boatload of curious new readers sure to venture out to comic shops and bookstores, it's not a bad idea in the slightest to provide them with a friendly jumping on point.
Aside from its highly engaging gameplay, one thing that has attracted so many fans toward Friday the 13th: The Game is that you can choose from so many different versions of Jason. Really, with the character having donned a variety of costumes and masks all throughout the expansive series of films, it's only natural that each look have its share of supporters.
