It's certainly been a good week for IDW on the Star Wars front, hasn't it? Having been recently confirmed to have pulled off the incredible coup of gaining license to publish the upcoming young reader friendly Star Wars Adventures, they've just announced that more science fiction awesomeness is on the way in the form of Star Wars: The Classic Newspaper Comics, Vol. 1.
No doubt enjoying all the praise True Believers have been giving his Netflix show, Luke Cage is certainly riding high these days. In fact, his popularity will soon have the chance to grow even further when a new solo series written by David F. Walker (Power Man and Iron Fist, Occupy Avengers) and illustrated by the up and coming Nelson Blake II (Romulus) hits stands the spring.

Although Tom King’s current run on Batman hasn’t been entirely bulletproof, one reason that it’s probably been scrutinized more than other titles is that he was faced with the unenviable task of following Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, who delivered what was arguably one of the greatest and most definitive eras to make up the Dark Knight’s 78-year history.
Although the recently rebooted line of Archie Comics have found quite a bit of success and helped immensely with rejuvenating interest in the publisher, longtime fans expressed some concern with the fact that the classic art style the brand has become known for had been jettisoned, and that a more dramatic tone was beginning to be favored over that of a more comedic one.
