Seriously, who would've thought that Gwen Stacy would become a superhero with one of the biggest cult followings of this decade? While many know her as Spider-Man's ill-fated girlfriend, an alternate universe version of her has popped up in recent years, whom you may know as Spider-Gwen. And, as the snowball continued to gain mass, that gave way to Gwenpool, an even zanier character (but, in all fairness, her real name is "Gwen Poole").
If the free goodies to be handed out at the upcoming launch parties celebrating Secret Empire weren't enough to get you excited for Marvel's next major crossover event, well, maybe a look at some cover art will. Okay, a couple of these were revealed last month, but it's best we put them in successive order in the gallery at the top, and you'll see why in a moment.
With the second season of iZombie having concluded nearly a year ago, we've had to satisfy our collective hunger with whatever bits of information came down the pipeline in the time since - and, believe me, there wasn't much to go on. Well, we finally did get a brief promo a few weeks back, so that was something.
Not long ago, Marvel dropped a simple, enigmatic teaser for something called Generations. At the time, no specifics were given, but it got everybody talking due to it depicting multiple versions of superheroes hanging out and also because it was painted by the incomparable Alex Ross. Who doesn't love his work, am I right?
For me, the past five or six years of Batgirl comics have been a mixed bag. Don’t get me wrong, I love the character of Barbara Gordon and am not naysaying any creators who’ve worked on the books by any means. It’s just that the tone of each particular run has been undoubtedly polarizing.
It’s been known for some time now that the fan favorite creative team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo have been planning a reunion of sorts. Yes, the same duo who crafted modern classics such as The Court of Owls, Death of the Family, Zero Year and Endgame will soon consolidate their power once again in order to bring us the next major DC Universe event, which centers on – surprise, surprise – Batman.
You know, it's really starting to seem like there's as much talk surrounding the casting of Cable for Deadpool 2 as there is about the Merc with a Mouth himself these days. But, I guess that's to be expected for a beloved character that's just now making his silver screen debut, one which is intended to serve as a launching point for X-Force, among other movies.
With a few weeks left to go until the release of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, DC All Access has really been spoiling us as of late with videos pertaining to the next addition to DC's stellar line of animated films. Just days ago, they spoke with Kari Wahlgren in order to gain some insight into her character of Starfire and, now, it's director Sam Liu's turn to talk.
Although Action Comics #976 was probably the most important read this week when it came to the more significant happenings in the DC Universe as a whole, it's undeniable that The Flash #19 was not to be overlooked either. Granted most of the issue was spent fleshing out the "Sins of the Father" story arc, but it was the final page that demanded the attention of all.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the past few years, it’s that somebody over at The CW really, really loves the character of Felicity Smoak. Yes, she does have a very vocal fan base (to put it mildly) that allowed her romance with Oliver Queen to derail any character development and/or screentime that would’ve otherwise been afforded to Laurel Lance’s rise as the Black Canary on Arrow, but she’s also been the subject of a featurette on The Flash season 1’s Blu-ray set for some reason.
