Although Justice League will arrive in cinemas before long (November 17, 2017), many of us are anxiously awaiting Ben Affleck's first solo outing as The Dark Knight in The Batman.
After kicking off its second season in style, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is showing no signs of slowing down. This new batch of images taken from the third episode, "Shogun," is evidence of that.
When Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast as Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, many fans couldn't help but picture him as some kind of version of The Dark Knight. After all, he's without a doubt the most macho onscreen version of Bruce's father we have seen to date. And, let's not forget, he recently expressed interest in playing a certain version of Batman who hails from an alternate reality.
With Penguin becoming the newly elected mayor and promising to "Make Gotham safe again," things are sure to heat up in next Monday's new episode, "Mad City: Anything For You." If one weren't familiar with this unique city, they would almost find that title to be comforting or reassuring. The rest of us, however, know how Gotham can change a person.
I’m not sure that many of us who have been faithfully watching Supernatural since the pilot aired way back in 2005 thought it would make it to twelve seasons. It takes strong ratings, a great cast and crew, cult followers, and maybe even a little luck to make it this far. Those factors have not only allowed this series to endure, but to thrive.
By now, most of you know that Suicide Squad will be granted an extended cut when it makes its way to Blu-Ray later this fall, effectively following in the footsteps of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. Said to boast thirteen minutes of extra scenes, it should flesh out the backstory shared by Joker and Harley Quinn, along with who knows what else.
Earlier this week, we got word that Supergirl would be taking an expected - but not unwelcome - turn by choosing to have their version of James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) evolve into the superhero known as The Guardian. What we didn't expect, however, was that the transition will likely happen this early in the show's second season, given the fact that a crisp promo photo of Brooks suited up was just released by The CW. Let it be known that the network has a history of releasing such images only when the relevant character's onscreen debut in that costume is imminent.
Over the past few years, Warner Home Video has played it safe when it comes to choosing which characters are granted headlining privileges in their animated movies. In other words, it's pretty much been pared down to the proven money makers: Batman and Justice League. And, while we recently got confirmation that 2017's direct-to-video animation slate shall be a bit more ambitious, it has nothing on what may follow.
With Justice League recently having concluded the bulk of its principal photography, it's a wonder that we haven't seen more images or footage pertaining to the various characters appearing in the film. Sure we've seen the team of superheroes themselves - Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg - but what of those in supporting roles?
With Supergirl now having fully transitioned to The CW, it really seems like news concerning the series doesn't stop. We're certainly not complaining, either, as the show looks like it's about to soar into the stratosphere.
