Earlier this morning, we got confirmation that Ben Affleck's upcoming solo outing as the Dark Knight is, in fact, titled The Batman. Thankfully, that's not the only talking point we have been given today regarding that specific film.
Although more DC characters are making their overdue big screen debuts over the course of the next few years, there are those of us who will never complain about getting more Batman. And, despite the character already having headlined eight of his own outings and now being placed in team-up movies, one can't help but yearn to see what Ben Affleck's Dark Knight can do with two or so hours to himself.
I think it's safe to say that Disney will be printing money in 2017. Not only do they have two Marvel Studios films slated for release, in addition to yet another installment in the Star Wars franchise proper, but the long awaited return of Jack Sparrow to cinemas is set with the arrival of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Something that recently caused many of us to breathe a sigh of relief was finding out that Katie Cassidy signed a landmark deal, effectively making her a series regular on all DC TV series on The CW; not just on Arrow, but on The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow as well. Those who may not be up to speed on the latest news may be asking, "Isn't the Laurel Lance character dead?"
One aspect of the upcoming season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow that has everybody talking is that of the introduction of comics' first superhero team, the Justice Society of America. While the group played a significant role in the unforgettable "Absolute Justice" episode of Smallville, they were already retired. This time, however, we expect to see them in all their crimefighting glory given that LoT is a time travelling show.
With the holiday season right around the corner, some are already getting their shopping out of the way. If you're intending to shop for a DC super fan - or just feel like beefing up you own collection - you may want to take a look at this Amazon exclusive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition Limited Edition Box Set.
With the previous two seasons having seen some awesome crossovers between The Flash and Arrow, we all knew this year's mega event that is set to also include Supergirl and DC's Legends of Tomorrow would have to be much more grandiose - even cosmic.
As Suicide Squad continues to confound naysayers, its latest feat sees it achieve yet another box office milestone. Impressively enough, it has usurped the first Iron Man film to become the 50th highest grossing movie of all time in the United States.
Perhaps I'm not the only one who has noticed that The CW has been counting down the weeks to the premieres of its various series by dropping trailers on the respective day each show airs. The latest offering is one of the most substantial and comes in the form of an extended jaw-dropping new look at the fifth season of Arrow.
There's a reason why fans jokingly refer to The CW as "The DC" these days: The network originally had one superhero show in the form of Smallville, which gave way to an unrelated Arrow series. Flash forward four years (no pun intended) and that universe has expanded to include The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, along with the recently acquired Supergirl.
