With casting news regarding DC TV shows flooding the internet on a regular basis, sometimes it can become easy to overlook the little things that will redefine the series we love in the coming season. Changes that may sound simple on paper may, in fact, affect Arrow and iZombie in greater ways than we may think.
In the wake of the game-changing events seen in Captain America: Civil War, many fans have wondered what the status of the titular character's onscreen mantle may be. Was his dropping of the iconic shield simply done in the heat of the moment or was it a bold statement?
Not long after being spoiled with the first full trailer for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, even more information has been made available for the animated film that is already driving many a Bat-fan mad with delight across social media platforms.
With Jervis Tetch/The Mad Hatter joining the cast of Gotham, it would only make sense that the show's producers complement him with an Alice to feed his own unique brand of madness. But here's the catch: Instead of Jervis stalking a woman who unfortunately strikes his fancy, Alice happens to be his sister in the case. And, yes, that is actually her first name.
Hot on the heels of last week's teaser trailer comes our first detailed look at Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. If the footage above is any indication, this new animated film is keeping the spirit of the classic 1960's TV show alive and well. The visuals are especially crisp and vibrant and Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar return to reprise their iconic roles of Batman, Robin, and Catwoman, respectively.
When Zoom met his downfall during the Season 2 finale of The Flash, not everybody seemed to notice the many subtleties of his transformation upon being attacked by Time Wraiths - some people I know certainly didn't. The obvious change was in his skin, which no longer maintains much of a silky smooth quality. Those who blinked, however, may have neglected to see his lightning change from blue to red, as well as his logo changing to white and red, among other minor costume alterations.
I'm going to be honest in saying that when it came to guessing who the killer was during Season 2 of Scream, Kieran wasn't even on my list of prime suspects. It was probably due to the fact that he was a red herring during the first season, therefore he kind of seemed "safe" during the second. The producers probably took full advantage of this notion and eventually revealed that he was, in fact, the accomplice of Piper (Season 1's killer) from the start.
When it's all said and done, 2016 may go down in history as having seen the most varied interpretations of Batman in live action and animation. Not only did Ben Affleck grace the silver screen twice as The Dark Knight in both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, but a number of iterations of the character appeared in animation, ranging from the LEGO variety all the way to the no-holds-barred R-rated Batman: The Killing Joke.
Those of us who have traveled on "The Road So Far" and have continued to do so are well aware that Supernatural is still going strong - especially after witnessing the glory of Season 11's final handful of episodes. With those creative juices still flowing, it's no surprise to me that The CW sees no immediate end to the series. After all, it's consistently drawn solid ratings, even more so when they moved the show from Friday nights.
Over the past week, people have been debating who the best live action Joker is, with many citing The Dark Knight's Heath Ledger and others favoring Suicide Squad's Jared Leto. A brilliant performance that none of us should forget was that of the one turned in by Cameron Monaghan, who played Jerome Valeska (a Proto-Joker) on Gotham. Although he lacked a purple suit, green hair, and perma-white skin, I felt he may have come closest to bringing the comic book version of the Joker to devilish life.
