Today, we learn that dreams can come true as CBS and The CW have worked out the logistics allowing for a crossover between The Flash and Supergirl. Rumors have been swirling over the past few months and now we can finally confirm that Grant Gustin's version of the Scarlet Speedster will make his way to National City during the March 28 episode of Supergirl. As of now, details regarding the plot have yet to be disclosed.
The CW has offered an extended look at next week's brand new episode of iZombie, which is titled "Physician, Heal Thy Selfie." Fans everywhere will no doubt tune in to see how the producers plan to followup on last night's episode, "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter," which provided a thrilling final ten minutes that turned the worlds of several characters upside down.
While we all wait impatiently for the return of Gotham, Fox has thankfully decided to sate our appetites by releasing a five part motion comic mini-series online, titled "Gotham Stories." Featuring the voice talents of Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle/Cat), Nathan Darrow (Victor Fries), Ben McKenzie (Jim Gordon) and Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), these brief installments will bridge the gap between the first half of Season Two, "Rise of the Villains," and the second half, "Wrath of the Villains." Thirty seconds of this installment will be shown during tonight's episode of The X-Files, but the entire one minute clip can luckily be viewed in the video embedded above.
After first being announced as coming to Fox in late 2014 and then being moved to The CW during San Diego Comic Con weekend in 2015, Archie fans can finally stop holding their breath now that The CW has officially ordered a pilot for Riverdale. This take on the classic characters will be decidedly darker and more subversive than the Archie comics your parents grew up with. It's also highly possible that the show will take influence from the more dramatic comic book series that was launched last July with Mark Waid at the helm.
Fans of DC animation have much to rejoice over today, as Justice League vs. Teen Titans now has a release date. The next film in the hallowed direct-to-video line will first be made available via digital download on March 29, with the Blu-Ray and DVD editions arriving in stores on April 12. Much online buzz is already surrounding the film, so we can only hope the fine folks at Warner Bros. Animation continue to knock it out of the park. Something tells me they will.
Those who viewed the Season One finale of Gotham saw Jada Pinkett Smith's character, Fish Mooney, seemingly fall to her death during the climactic battle with The Penguin. While Oswald Cobblepot was quick to declare himself "King of Gotham," many fans, such as myself, were quick to point out that we never saw a body. Fish has since been name dropped on several occasions as a handful of characters remain confident that she will one day make her triumphant return to Gotham City and reclaim her throne, so to speak.
After delivering a fantastic episode that very much followed the classic monster hunting formula, while also having some great moments involving the Winchesters in "Into The Mystic," Supernatural looks to bring back some recurring characters in next week's offering.
Fans of the hit new series Supergirl have likely been delighted that veterans of past Superman movies and TV series have appeared or will appear at some point during the first season. Dean Cain, Helen Slater, and Laura Vandervoort are among the most recognizable, but many a fan have wondered if Tom Welling could ever appear on the show. After all, many of us spent ten years with him when he inhabited the role of Clark Kent on Smallville, which chronicled the character's journey from teenage farmboy to Superman.
Something that many fans love about The Flash is that it has never shied away from its comic book roots and fearlessly treads into science fiction territories such as time travel or exploring alternate universes. Expect the series to provide a boatload of fan service when it once again crosses the multiversal barrier with February 9's episode, which is titled "Welcome to Earth-2" (try not hearing that spoken in Will Smith's voice).
