In the annals of cinema, very few things in the superhero genre can compete with the sheer spectacle that was Avengers: Endgame's climactic battle. Really, it was quite thrilling to see heavy hitters such as Black Panther, Doctor Strange and many others showing up near the end in order to assist the old guard.
Despite both Cicadas having been a thorn in the side of the STAR Labs crew all season long on The Flash, I've found the unfolding situation involving Eobard Thawne and Nora West-Allen to be much more intriguing. Does the incarcerated speedster actually care for her? And exactly what'll happen when the countdown clock outside of his cell reaches zero?
If there’s one thing the Marvel Cinematic Universe has excelled at, it’s making household names out of characters who were largely unfamiliar to the mainstream before they showed up in their current iterations. Think about it: Only Hulk and Captain America had really enjoyed major pop culture exposure in years prior, with Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor having been relatively unknown to those who didn’t read comics. There were cartoons, sure, but not all caught on.
Right now, it seems like so many people have become fixated on who'll be the next James Bond that they've forgotten how it'll actually be quite some time before the big reveal occurs. After all, Daniel Craig is still playing the super spy for one more picture - and that won't storm cinemas for another year.
If you ventured out to see a showing of Avengers: Endgame this past weekend (you probably did), then you were witness to one hell of a movie. Not only did it provide great fan service to those who've followed the Marvel Cinematic Universe to this point, but it also featured some beautiful sendoffs for a few key characters.
Even though much of the talk following Gotham's series finale has had to do with the emergence of Batman and the costume he wore - and rightfully so - another hot topic has been discussed at length on social media. And in case you were unable to figure it out, we're referring to the recasting of Selina Kyle.
This past Thursday night, we had Gotham fans on one side of the aisle cheering in their seats the moment they saw Batman after five years of buildup. But on the other, some folks expressed discontent by the Dark Knight's absence from the bulk of the episode. Granted, we did see him in silhouette as he worked from the shadows, but it's understandable why full frontal was demanded.
In the five-year history of The Flash TV series, we've certainly seen our share of speedsters come though Central City. Whether they be good or evil, each have made a significant impact on the STAR Labs crew and viewers alike. But if any deserve to be mentioned by name, it's the show's first three big bads, those being the Reverse-Flash, Zoom and Savitar.
When it comes to any sort of costuming choice, everybody is bound to have their own opinion. But in the case of an icon as widely known as Batman, fans will either express their love for his latest costume when seeing it for the first time, or spew enough venom on it so that no substance known to man could possibly clean it off. Hey, as long as it doesn't have nipples, it can't be all that bad, right?
I don't know about you, but I'm somewhat displeased at how Selina Kyle was handled in Gotham's series finale. As a whole, I thought the episode was satisfying, but seeing the gal fated to be Catwoman pilfering jewels in a costume lacking cat ears was downright disappointing - and especially when you consider how the series had leaped forward by ten years. Hey, if they can show us Batman, then why not Catwoman? Or even say her name? I really don't get all the ridiculous red tape involved.
