Normally, we see superhero shows dispatch of their big bads during their season finales. In the case of The Flash, Reverse-Flash, Zoom, Savitar and the Thinker were each dealt with in the 23rd episode of their respective seasons. But when it comes to Cicada, it looks like he may exit a little earlier than his predecessors.
Although Arrow has been host to its share of memorable guest stars over the years, it seems like the best way to get the fans hyped in advance is to cast genre royalty. Already, we've seen the likes of John Barrowman (Torchwood) and Manu Bennett (Spartacus) enjoy vacations to Star City, with the latest addition to the club bringing a smile to my face.
If anything, the past few years have been kind to those of us who love DC's female characters. On the silver screen, we've been treated to Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, so fingers remain crossed for their next cinematic outings living up to the hype. Actually, I'm quite intrigued to see what the latter and her cohorts bring to the table in Birds of Prey, though I'm admittedly not thrilled with the costuming. I mean, would it physically hurt someone involved in that production to reference a comic book?
By now, I certainly hope you’ve had the chance to play the recently released Resident Evil 2 remake. Though it didn’t top the 1998 original in my view, it’s one fantastic entry into the long-running survival horror franchise that I simply can’t get enough of.
After taking a few weeks off, Arrow sure did make one hell of an impact with last night's returning episode, that being "Brothers & Sisters." Not only did we finally meet the mysterious villain known as Dante (and learn that Emiko is in collusion with him!), but someone burned Ricardo Diaz alive in his cell at ARGUS. And if that weren't enough, we also found out that Felicity Smoak is pregnant.
As you may remember, we'd originally presented photos from "King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd" a few weeks ago, but those surprisingly focused much more on Jesse L. Martin's long-awaited return to The Flash. In fact, there was really nothing to offer regarding the super heavyweight fight at that time. And though I'm sure we're all appreciative of seeing Joe West return to the fold, I'm guessing you may have felt shortchanged.
Not long after hearing how Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke last week comes the tragic news that the veteran actor passed away this morning at the age of 52 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank. Perhaps best known for his roles on Beverly Hills 90210, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and, most recently, Riverdale, this'll no doubt come as a heartbreaking shock to his fans the world over.
Just when I thought I had time to catch my breath after playing through the awesome Resident Evil 2 remake, Capcom delivers the second in a solid one-two punch in the early part of 2019. And in case you hadn't figured it out, I'm talking about the long-awaited and highly anticipated Devil May Cry 5.
Thanks to what seems to be a neverending delay, the Gotham TV series has somehow managed to beat the comic book medium to the "Three Jokers" punch. Granted, I'm waiting with bated breath for what's sure to be an epic miniseries written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Jason Fabok to hit shelves, but the Batman prequel show has done a fine job of putting its own stamp on the Clown Prince of Crime's legacy.
Love him or hate him, Cicada has proven to be quite the omnipresent threat on The Flash this season. And though he's chalked up more losses than, say, the Reverse-Flash or Zoom, the team at STAR Labs have yet to find a way to definitively deal with him.
