Bobcat Goldthwait is racking up the director credits over on his IMDB resume. Two of his biggest hits so far, comedy Sleeping Dogs Lie and the underrated Robin Williams-starrer, World's Greatest Dad, are in a world of their own when compared to his latest effort. Shot in 2013, found footage horror Willow Creek isn't what you would come to expect from the comedian who made his name playing helium-pitched buffoons. His big break came as the absolutely crackers Zed in the Police Academy franchise, who stole most of his scenes what with his bizarre fish-kissing antics and the like. Times have changed though and so has Goldthwait - whose current goal is to scare your trousers brown.
The major leaks for the in production dino-sequel Jurassic World, have been coming thick and fast recently. Living in an era wherein a trip to the cinema means you've likely already been exposed to spoilers in the trailer, production photos, clips and interviews means we definitely don't need anything else to convince us to see the movie. Quentin Tarantino's latest endeavour, The Hateful Eight, has been through such a quagmire of problems. A week after announcing the project earlier this year, the script leaked online. The filmmaker's frustration saw him damn his own project before it was out of the gate, citing his distrust of those involved as reason to shelve it. He later made peace with the incident, and inked a deal to officially publish the screenplay as a book. According to Showbiz 411 though, the western isn't destined for bookshelves and will be hitting the big screen after all.
What a Memorial Day Weekend this is shaping up to be for Marvel. Following on from yesterday's shocking news concerning Edgar Wright's exit from the much-awaited Ant-Man, Latino Review have learned of yet another departure from the comic book family. According to their sources, Drew Goddard has bowed out of Marvel's Netflix TV show, Daredevil.

From what's being reported, it all came down to good old fashioned creative differences:
It's a busy week for Alfonso Cuaron. Mind you, it's probably always a busy week for the chap who helmed last year's critical and financial smash, Gravity. Raking in the cash and the critics clearly won favour with Warner Bros., as earlier this week, rumours began wafting about the web concerning his continued role in the Harry Potter universe. Apparently he's in talks for J.K Rowling's Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them; a New York-set magical fable. Now the lucky bugger has struck gold again, according to website Schmoes Know, who've heard that he's been offered the chance to direct The Overlook Hotel.
The 2014 Cannes Film Festival may be drawing to a close, but it's still not over for director Oliver Assayas (Something In The Air, Summer Hours). The French filmmaker's latest drama, Clouds Of Sils Maria is scheduled to screen in competition, begging the question: will it snag the festival's prized award, the Palme d'Or? Judging by the sneak peeks offered so far with posters, images, clips and today the first full-length trailer, we'd say it's one to watch.
Stephen King. Also known as: the world's leading authority on convincing adults it's a sterling idea to keep the lights on at night. The prolific horror author has left many devoted readers quaking beneath their blankies - and in front of their screens. It's no secret that adaptation rights to the his work are snapped up faster than he can churn them out, as his name is a surefire guarantee of a built-in audience. So, it comes as little surprise, what with The Age Of The Remake in its stride, that one of his most popular novels, It, has been earmarked for a reboot.
Samuel L. Jackson and Robert De Niro formed one of cinema's truly oddest couples back in 1997's Jackie Brown. Two ageing criminals looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, they weren't the brightest of buttons - but dang, they were fun to watch. With the arrival of the first trailer for Daniel Schecter's Life Of Crime, we're offered a glimpse at the two wannabe gangsters before Jackie was around. It's a sort-of prequel. Ish.
Gone are the days when a film's future spinoffs were a thing to be contemplated by fans, considered by execs and ultimately decided upon when the box office receipts roll in. X-Men: Days Of Future Past hasn't even hit cinema screens yet and talk is already drifting to the next instalment in the franchise: X-Men: Apocalypse. Namely, a new mutant by the name of Quicksilver, played in Fox's Marvel Universe by Evan Peters.
