Whether you love, hate or couldn't give a monkeys about Transformers 4, the ever-growing bizarre list of actors attached to star is too intriguing to ignore. Last week it was announced that Kelsey Grammer had signed on as the film's human antagonist. Now, The Wrap reports that British actress Sophia Myles has clambered aboard the fourth instalment.
The impressive cameo roster for Anchorman: The Legend Continues has added comedy's current hot tickets, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to the mix. They'll join a ton of Hollywood's finest in making a brief appearance in the sequel. Director Adam McKay has revealed that the two actresses are on board but no news yet on the roles they'll play. Their performances were captured during a shoot taking place in a park. Bonkers park rangers?
The brightest, shiniest star in Hollywood, Tom Cruise has signed on to star in Mission: Impossible 5. The news has been confirmed by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions, who were both behind the last instalment. As yet, no director or writer has been revealed - but Deadline has it on good authority that the guy for the director's chair is none other than Christopher McQuarrie. Who's that, you might ask? McQuarrie was the director behind the newly-spawned Jack Reacher franchise. No stranger to the Cruise, he's collaborated with him on three previous projects. Valkyrie, Jack Reacher, the upcoming sci-fi flick, All You Need Is Kill and the will-it-won't-it-happen Top Gun 2 may further extend their partnership.
A bunch of new set photos from James Franco's As I Lay Dying have arrived, in preparation for the film's Cannes debut. In this latest bunch we get a first look at Danny McBride in character. You'll recognise McBride, as he's worked with Franco in Pineapple Express, Your Highness and this summer's upcoming meta-com This Is The End. McBride takes on the role of Vernon for As I Lay Dying, and based on the source material it's doubtful there'll be slapstick humour aplenty for their latest collaboration.
A recent conversation over at Stuff led to Netflix's Chief Content Officer revealing the possibility of bringing back cult faves Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Twin Peaks. With the massive success of online streaming video content, Netflix has expanded generating some stellar original programming. David Fincher's House Of Cards and Eli Roth's Hemlock Grove to name but two.
Director Bryan Singer has taken to Twitter for the second time this week to tease fans over the currently-in-production X Men: Days Of Future Past. Seems he got the hint that a photo of the back of Wolverine's head was akin to a teaser trailer teaser as he's managed to capture his actor's face this time. In this latest photo, posted on the director's Twitter we get a look at Ellen Page in costume as Kitty Pryde.
Sylvester Stallone loves Twitter. Via this most infectious of mediums he's teased and taunted fans of The Expendables 3 with rumours, speculation and hearsay. He's the biggest fanboy of the bunch when it comes to spouting off. You can't deny though, that the hulking grunter of an actor has a playfulness to his Tweets. Just now he posted the following Tweetulation:
Former SNL genius Kristen Wiig made our pants turn yellow with the brilliant Bridesmaids back in 2011. Since then she's dabbled in a spot of serious drama in Friends With Kids, appeared in an episode of Portlandia and said goodbye to her career on Saturday Night Live. While she's completed a ton of work in the last year, most of which are in post-production it feels like it's been far too long since she's been on the big screen. Fear not, the first trailer for her latest, Girl Most Likely (previously titled Imogene) has arrived! And it's dead funny.
In the last few days not only have we received news that the Ender's Game teaser trailer will be released next week but we've also seen the first photo of Ben Kingsley tatted up as badass Mazer Rackham. Well, stand back for we have now been gifted via Han Solo and Hugo a teaser for the teaser trailer. Can't get your head round it? Well, it's akin to reading the pamphlet about the blurb of a book that's yet to be released. Silly? Yes. Exciting footage? Definitely.
Following on from yesterday's news spilled exclusively to Entertainment Weekly by Marvel's head honcho, Kevin Feige, a new piece of concept artwork for Guardians Of The Galaxy has also been unveiled. Possibly the most unusual-sounding entry for Marvel's cinematic universe, Guardians Of The Galaxy has a storyline unlike any other in their Phase Two line up.
