Hot off the back of her phenomenal turn in time travel thriller, Predestination, Australian actress Sarah Snook has entered talks to join Universal's Steve Jobs movie.
Against all odds, Guardians Of The Galaxy charmed the pants off everyone. Audiences, critics, and even those lucky actors who starred in the Marvel movie mega-hit. Just last week, Lee Pace - who played the blue hammer-wielding villain, Ronan The Accuser - came forth to reveal his passion for the franchise. In an interview with IGN, the actor confessed that he'd be over the moon if he were given the chance to reprise the role. While Ronan suffered a grisly fate at the end of the first flick, this is the movies, and as we all know, no death in a comic book feature is ever permanent.
Warner Bros. mega-villain comic book caper, Suicide Squad, just won't stay out of the headlines. Today's latest dollop of DC-related rumor chat comes from Cinema Blend, whose sources indicate that The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal and Exodus: Gods And Kings' Joel Edgerton are both serious contenders for the role of Rick Flag. A key player in the Squad - a leader of sorts - Flag was originally set to be played by Tom Hardy, who dropped out last week after learning his part was much smaller than anticipated.
Considering X-Men: Apocalypse is well over a year away from release, talk of who will appear in the mutant sequel continues to rile up intrigue. A few weeks back, a shortlist of actors reportedly in the running for roles hit the web, sending the rumor mill into overdrive. That wishlist included Saoirse Ronan, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Jamie Blackley and Taron Egerton, who were all thought to be testing for pivotal roles in the franchise. Following an interview with MTV UK, we can now strike that last name from the list, as Egerton confirms he won't be in the movie.
After months of speculation and rumor, we can finally put a face to the name Supergirl: Melissa Benoist. CBS scooped up the Glee actress this week to lead their new small screen reboot of the popular title as Kara Zor-El. After turns in the musical comedy-drama and this year's Whiplash, she might not be an instantly recognizable name, but after landing this prestigious gig, that will no doubt change.
David Ayer's comic book megamovie, Suicide Squad, currently sits with a gaping hole in its leading cast. Last week, Tom Hardy bowed out of the film, leaving his pivotal role of Rick Flag up for the taking. At the time it was thought Jake Gyllenhaal was the frontrunner to take on the part, but that has since been shot down and the vacancy has yet to be filled. While Flag is a key player, he's not the be-all-and-end-all (which is thought to be why Hardy exited - not enough screentime), and there are still other roles that require casting. One of which will apparently be nabbed by Gary Sinise.
Falling from NBC's autumn slate might have been a blessing in disguise for apoca-comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Created by 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the show's funnybone originates from the same type of acerbic wit that their seminal skit comedy nailed with aplomb. So, after the network omitted the show from their fall line-up, a deal was struck with global streaming giants, Netflix, which might actually prove to be a stronger choice in getting this sitcom before the right audience.
Much like the culinary prowess of its compelling villain, the build-up to Hannibal season 3 has required a delicate balance of ingredients. The threat of the show's cancellation loomed over fans until NBC optioned the gritty thriller for a third season, and tidbits surrounding the latest additions to its cast dripped through slowly until EW finally debuted the upcoming season's first teaser trailer earlier today. All in all, our appetites have been whetted. Now we're ready to eat.
Last June, director Paul WS Anderson offered an update on Resident Evil 6, the supposed last instalment in the zombie action franchise. At the time, his comments mainly revolved around the film's format, 3D, and the scripting process (he was halfway finished) indicating it probably wouldn't meet its September 2014 release date.
NBC's brilliant adaptation of Thomas Harris' Hannibal has added a new member to its already strong cast today. According to TV Line - who broke the news exclusively - Hugh Dancy's tortured Will Graham will finally find peace with his new love interest played by Broadway star, Nina Arianda. This will mark a reunion for the pair, as they previously worked together on the stage in a Broadway production of Venus In Fur.
