Kevin Smith knows how to talk the talk, especially when it comes to his own interconnected movie universe, the View Askewniverse. For several years, the verbose filmmaker has dropped hints about a Mallrats sequel, right up until spring of 2015 when casting fever saw most of the original film cast signing up to reprise their roles. We hate to break it to you die-hard Smith fans, but as of today, Mallrats 2 the movie has been scuppered... in favor of a TV series.
Steven Soderbergh does love his heist movies. After delivering Warner Bros. a corking heist trilogy, packed with A-list talent in the shape of Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen, he's at it again. Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence is teaming up with The Big Short director Adam McKay for a real-life drama based on the founder of revolutionary medical startup, Theranos. Following a treacherous early development period Warner Bros/New Line's reboot of It is finally pushing forward. Just recently we learned that Bill Skarsgard - yes, the younger brother of True Blood's Alexander - had scored the pivotal role of evil, sewer-dwelling clown Pennywise, and today brings word of another villainous addition. Thansk to a new report from THR, it's confirmed that Bloodline season two newcomer Owen Teague will be fleshing out the baddies in the Stephen King adaptation.
Over the course of his career, Jude Law has flexed his acting muscles in a variety of genres, and it turns out that he very nearly flexed the hell out of his actual muscles to play the Man of Steel. During his appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Law confided in his host that he came very close to considering a role in a pre-Zack Snyder version of Superman.
Sharon Stone got the internet all hot and bothered recently when she made sly mention of an upcoming part in a Marvel movie. The actress referred to it as "a wee role" that, naturally, sparked tons of speculation. Did the "wee" mean it was small in length, like a fleeting cameo or background appearance? Or was it to be taken literally as in, she's probably playing Janet Van Dyne aka the original Wasp in Ant-Man And The Wasp?
