You can't talk about Paradise without paying attention to its writer-director, the Oscar-winning Diablo Cody. With films like Juno, Young Adult and Jennifer's Body, Cody has carved out a small but distinctive niche for herself over the past few years, turning out enjoyable dark comedies about strong female characters disillusioned by the world around them. One would expect that Paradise, Cody's first film working behind the camera, would utilize a surplus of her trademark snark to explore a story with similar themes. Unfortunately, despite a stellar cast, Paradise's cloying script and agonizing lack of substance often make it feel more like purgatory.
The Raid: Redemption made waves in 2011 when its fresh blend of hard-hitting action and inventive direction endeared it to critics and audiences worldwide. We Got This Covered even placed it at #21 on our definitive list of the Top 100 Action Movies ever made. So you can understand our excitement for the forthcoming sequel, The Raid 2: Berandal, which picks up just two hours after the brutal conclusion of Redemption.
It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone that 20th Century Fox is eager to continue their Ben Stiller-starring Night at the Museum franchise; after all, the first two films in the series both earned critical praise as well as tremendous box-office numbers. It was previously announced that the studio was moving ahead with Night at the Museum 3 after confirming Stiller to return and bringing back series' director Shawn Levy. Now, we have confirmation that Robin Williams is in talks to reprise his role as Teddy, the kindly wax dummy of former President Theodore Roosevelt.
Even with Carrie landing in theaters tomorrow, Screen Gems is inexplicably still managing to find new footage and images from the horror remake to splash across the internet. We've covered the Carrie publicity campaign pretty thoroughly so far, but there's still time for one more clip, this one with the self-explanatory title, "Stop Hurting Yourself!"
For those of you horror aficionados wondering why we won't be getting a new Paranormal Activity movie this Halloween for the first time in four years, the answer is likely that Oren Peli and company have had their hands full developing both Paranormal Activity 5 (scheduled for next October) and Latino-themed spin-off Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, set to drop in January. The

David Oyelowo and Kate Mara have snagged lead roles in the upcoming real-life thriller Captive, which is currently set to be helmed by TV directing veteran Jerry Jameson (Murder, She Wrote).
Terrible plot twists are the ultimate in awful movie-watching experiences. Sadly, that doesn't mean they're uncommon. And unfortunately, I've seen more than my share of good films destroyed by ridiculous, strange, unjustified or just plain dumb twists. What this feature will not do is examine head-scratching endings/twists in decidedly awful movies, so, despite such efforts as The Happening, The Village and Devil, M. Night Shyamalan only gets one title on this list (because, easy though it would be, we can't let him take every slot, can we?). You also won't see Tim Burton's godawful Planet of the Apes remake, which redefined big-budget stupidity with its Ape-raham Lincoln drivel, possibly the worst twist of all time attached to one of the worst remakes of all time.
Acclaimed director Woody Allen never has a problem landing big stars for his projects, and his latest offering, which he announced today will be called Magic in the Moonlight, is no different.
