When it was first announced that Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler were developing a television series around Supergirl, many (including myself) immediately wondered if it were possible for the last daughter of Krypton to share the same canonical universe as any of the other current DC Comics shows, such as The Flash and Arrow, which Berlanti also produces. Those hopes were diminished, however, when the series got picked up by CBS, and not by The CW, the current home of the aforementioned Scarlet Speedster and Emerald Archer.
