It's been nearly a month since the Internet almost rage pissed itself over news that Ben Affleck would be the latest actor to adorn himself in the iconic Batman cape and cowl, joining good ol' Superman for a fun night out on the town.
It's nice when developers decide to give players just a tiny bit more freedom in how they choose to progress in a game, isn't it? If you agree, then you'll be happy to know that in Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate you will do just that. In what some are calling a nod to the Mega Man games of yore; you will be able to choose which bosses you want to take on at any given time.
With the release date not even set for The Green Inferno, Eli Roth, in an unsurprising and audacious move, has already set in motion plans for its sequel: Beyond the Green Inferno.
It appears that Shantae is shaping up to be the most badass chick to whip her hair back and forth since Sindel from the Mortal Kombat series (bet you weren't expecting a Willow Smith reference). Seemingly Aladdin-inspired art style coupled with quirky characters and anachronistic tanks all combine to make for one bizarre and hilarious cross-section of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS platformer Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.
The new Clive Owen vehicle, Blood Ties, looks to pick up where Pride and Glory and We Own the Night left off. Essentially, this crime drama is set to follow the lives of two brothers on opposite sides of the law; one being a cop, and the other a former mobster who was recently released from prison, on top of several disparate individuals whose lives are all seemingly interconnected to the New York City underworld in the 1970s.
The weekend hasn't even started yet, but it would appear that everybody's favorite gravelly-voiced action star is already hinting at potential sequels involving his stoic, night vision equipped anti hero, Riddick. The Chronicles of Riddick franchise has taken some interesting turns to say the least, and is a testament to Vin Diesel's star power.
Agoraphobics and astrophobics should probably stay far away from this one. The new trailer for Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity is promising nothing short of the most pants pissing scenario ever put to the big screen. As if flying and crashing weren't bad enough, a new precedent has been set; floating off into the vast expanse of space freezing, starving or asphyxiating. Sounds like a contender for one of the worst ways to die this side of drowning in an alkali bath.
With games edging closer and closer to being accepted not simply as a form of entertainment, but also as a legitimate art form, the medium's need to grow and display some maturity in terms of its narratives has grown. Being controversial for the sake of controversy is a cheap and ineffective way to drum up business, and more often than not people can see through this thin veneer. However, sometimes when you court controversial subject matter, even with the best intentions, your efforts might immediately be shot down.
Is there really anything worse than having an awful neighbor? Imagine knowing that day after day unless one of you decides to move, that for the indeterminate future, this worthless sack of human flesh will inhabit their share of property right next to yours. A nightmare scenario for some, but a sad reality for many. So like any good comedian, Seth Rogen takes a painful situation and makes light of it in his newest flick, aptly titled Neighbors.
This has to be a record as far as crowd-funding goes. The man who is famous for creating our favorite little blue bomber (Keiji Inafune), has already exceeded his Kickstarter goal of $900,000 for his new title, Mighty No.9, which means that we will be seeing this not quite Mega Man looking guy (his name is Beck) on the PC in the near future.
