Just a few days ago, we were treated to an impressive batch of pictures from the set of the currently-shooting season four of Game of Thrones, giving us a great look at the new Mountain, sets, and more. Today, via Comic Book Movie, we have even more set pics that give us our first look at another replacement actor.
In 1953, From Here to Eternity took the world by storm, going on to win eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Not a bad haul for a film based on a book that was considered quite controversial at the time due to language and its painting of the military in a bad light. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the film is being given an upgrade to Blu-ray so that a whole new generation can continue enjoying it for years to come.
While we anxiously await the return of HBO’s Game of Thrones, we’ve gotten various bits of information regarding the upcoming season, including several different casting announcements for many roles great and small. One of the roles that we recently got word of was the casting of Icelandic actor Haffthor Bjornsson as Gregor Clagane (aka “The Mountain Who Rides”). Apparently it didn’t take them too long to put him to work as he’s prominently featured in the first batch of behind the scenes stills that found their way online today.
Steven Sondheim's classic fairy tale musical Into the Woods has been gracing the stage since 1986 with multiple attempts to get a film version off the ground ever since. Well, now that dream is becoming a reality as the big screen adaptation of the musical has finally begun filming under the direction of Rob Marshall (Chicago), starring a cast that includes Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, and many more.
One of the most intriguing shows of recent memory has been FX's creepy horror-thriller American Horror Story. It's unique in that it tells a different story each season, using many of the same actors in the process, with the latest a mere 13 days away from premiering.
One of the most anticipated films (hopefully) coming out later this year is Martin Scorsese's latest project, The Wolf of Wall Street, starring his constant collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio. I say "hopefully" because today, via First Showing, we've learned that Paramount is considering delaying the film due to a couple of issues that may see the film released in late December or possibly even next year.
Fans of HBO's hit show Game of Thrones know very well that it's had its fair share of death in the past. Back during Comic-Con, we even had an amusing "In Memoriam" clip to remind us that several of these fictitious characters have lost their lives over the mere three seasons that the show has been on. Even with all of the deaths occurring in the show, it still didn't prepare us for what we witnessed with the infamous "Red Wedding," where some very unexpected events took place.
If there’s one thing that coming of age films remind us of, it’s that life as a teenager can be a difficult time. They also remind us of a time when we thought we knew so much more than our parents, that what they deemed best for us was often seen in a negative light at such a young age. Of course, most teens aren’t going to take the radical step that the three main characters of The Kings of Summer take of running away to live on their own and be independent, but what youngster in a situation like theirs doesn’t have such a thought drift across their mind, however briefly?
By now, most of you have probably heard about all the commotion caused by the picture that Justin Bieber posted on Instagram of what looks to be a copy of the Batman vs. Superman script. The only caption found with the picture reads: "#robin??"
One of the things I remember most about my childhood of the 90s was reading all of the Goosebumps books I could get my hands on. This was at a time when they were the hottest thing in town, even going so far as to spawn a decent TV show that lasted four seasons. Sure they were incredibly silly books, but boy were they entertaining for a kid to read.
