It’s not election season without Eminem inserting himself somewhere in the equation. The always-outspoken rapper has been silent for quite a while (other than his feature on Skylar Grey's new album), but he’s back with a bang today with the release of his politically-charged freestyle track, “Campaign Speech.”
Judging by the huge success that Kanye West is having with his ambitious Saint Pablo Tour, it was pretty obvious that he wasn’t going to let the fun stop when the tour wraps up later this month. He’ll be hitting the road yet again in all his floating-stage glory on the second leg of the tour, starting in November.
Bruno Mars is all about gold when it comes to the album cycle of his upcoming record, 24k Magic, but now, he’s getting a taste of a different element: Diamond. His joint effort with musician Mark Ronson, “Uptown Funk,” was just recently certified Diamond by the RIAA for moving over ten million units.
Drake is known for holding records and topping charts, but what he just accomplished is something quite unique for the Toronto-based rapper. His club banger and Views highlight, “One Dance,” is now the most streamed song on Spotify, amassing a total of over 882 million plays since its release this past April. Major Lazer previously held the record with the track “Lean On.”
As expected, the latest song to be unveiled from Lady Gaga’s upcoming album is the bubbly “A-Yo,” and if you weren’t looking forward to Joanne at this point, this track’s got what it takes to sway opinions in the other direction.
Maybe Nathan Sykes isn’t as “famous” as he was a few years back when he was running the world with The Wanted, but that doesn’t prevent his solo career from being even better than his past endeavor was. The English singer and songwriter is gearing up to release his first solo album, Unfinished Business, and just dropped the music video for his latest single, “Famous.”
Don’t be surprised when you notice that there’s a glaring omission on the nominee list for the upcoming Grammy Awards. Despite being eligible for nomination for his new album, Blonde, and possibly his visual album, Endless, Frank Ocean missed the September 30th cut off date for both projects, so he’s unable to be nominated for one of music’s most prestigious honors.
After the failed experiment of releasing three albums in the span of four months, you would have thought Green Day’s ability to nab a number one album was long gone. Those three efforts - ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre! - that were released in 2012 only managed to peak at number two with ¡Uno!, while ¡Dos! and ¡Tre! fell significantly lower. However, all of that is seemingly irrelevant now with their new record, Revolution Radio, which officially gives the band their third number one debut.
The solo careers for the ex-One Direction boys are in high gear now that Liam Payne has finally joined the club. After nearly a year since One Direction announced their hiatus, Republic Records announced today that Payne will be inking a deal with the prestigious label, joining a roster that includes the likes of The Weeknd and Ariana Grande.
Lady Gaga’s new album, Joanne, is only days away, and it’s hard to believe that all of the waiting is finally coming to an end. In addition to the lead single “Perfect Illusion,” the only song that has been revealed since is the heartfelt ballad, “Million Reasons.” That’s just covering the studio versions, though -- on Gaga’s dive tour that she’s been embarking on this month, we’ve seen her take on “A-Yo” and “Sinner’s Prayer” live, and now we’re getting an official look at the performance of “A-Yo.”
