The first episode in Sierra's latest entry in the King's Quest series is available today, and a new promotional trailer has been launched online that showcases both some of the mechanics that the adventure game contains as well as some recognizable voice talent.
Squid Hero, an indie Xbox One game from developer Virtual Air Guitar, will see a digital North American release on July 29. The action adventure title requires Kinect, which will allow gamers to directly control the titular squid's movement and tentacles, enabling them to pick up and throw various objects. Obstacle courses and boss battles will also be incorporated into gameplay, along with local 2-player co-op for the entire game.
Rock Band 4 is getting ever closer to its release in early October, and while a major selling point of the game is full backwards compatibility with song DLC purchased in earlier iterations, developer Harmonix is still sticking to series tradition and including plenty of songs built into the game from the start. 11 new tracks have been announced today, spanning various artists, genres, and decades.

King's Quest, the episodic adventure game revival of the classic Sierra series, will have its first installment available across multiple platforms quite soon. The first chapter, titled King's Quest: A Knight to Remember, will launch across five consoles in late July. July 28 will see a release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC, with Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions launching on July 29. The episode will cost $9.99 to download individually, but Sierra is also including a discounted bundle pre-order option for all five chapters available today for $39.99 on the PlayStation Network and Steam, with an Xbox One version with the same price planned for July 7. A new trailer has also been released and can be viewed above, showcasing the painting-like art style used for characters and environments as well as some witty dialog between lead character Graham and various side characters.

Nintendo unveiled a clever mashup of RPGs during today's Nintendo Direct in the form of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam for the 3DS, which will be a crossover of both the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario franchises. The story looks to revolve around the Mario & Luigi versions of familiar characters meeting their Paper Mario counterparts, and will have both versions interacting and even teaming up in battle.
It's been a long, long time since Nintendo released a brand new Star Fox game, but for those with fond memories of doing barrel rolls in their Arwings, the wait is almost over, as Star Fox Zero has been confirmed for release on the Wii U later this year.
