Spike VGA Winners Announced; The Walking Dead Takes Home Game Of The Year

Spike TV's yearly Video Game Awards have come to a close, and a full list of the winners is now available. The biggest success story of the night goes to Telltale Games' episodic series based on The Walking Dead. The adventure game walked away not only with a Game of the Year award, but also won awards for Best Downloadable Game and Best Adapted Game, along with Telltale winning Developer of the Year.

007 Legends Developer Eurocom Shuts Down

In sadder game news today, longtime U.K. game developer Eurocom has confirmed that it has gone into administration and laid off all remaining employees. The company's most recent title was 007 Legends. Other games from the Derby-based company include Harry Potter for Kinect, Dead Space: Extraction, and Disney Universe.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Comes To XBLA Spring 2013

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, the gorgeous indie 2D platformer from developer Black Forest Games, originally made its downloadable debut on the PC in October as part of Steam's Greenlight service. Soon, the sisters will also be making the jump to Xbox Live Arcade, as it was recently announced that bitComposer has secured publishing rights to the game and will release it on Microsoft's service sometime next spring.

Rayman Legends May Not Have NFC Features After All

Ubisoft's upcoming Wii U platformer Rayman Legends was originally revealed to the world not through an official announcement from the company, but through a leaked trailer that made the rounds back in April. Though the heavily-promoted co-op play mechanic that makes use of the Game Pad's touch screen was present in this initial trailer, another feature it showcased that hasn't been mentioned since featured the use of the controller's wireless NFC capabilities in a manner similar to the popular Skylanders franchise. Clips were shown of players putting real-life objects and figurines on the Game Pad and having such characters as the Raving Rabbids materialize in the game.
