Everyone loves a good Stephen King adaptation, good being the key word there. This year's remake of Pet Sematary was divisive, sitting at a measly 57% on Metacritic (although our own Matt Donato seemed to enjoy it). One of the major criticisms was just how far the film divulged from the book, which led some to claim the original 1989 effort was a better adaptation, at least in that regard. Be that as it may, in anticipation of the upcoming home video release of the remake, the directors have now shared the original, scripted ending, and you can check it out down below.
Carrie Fisher is an icon of Hollywood, becoming forever ingrained in the popular zeitgeist after appearing as Princess Leia in Star Wars. Her last on-screen appearance is fast approaching with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the battle to include her on the Walk of Fame continues to rage on.
You would think that Tony Stark's heroic sacrifice to save humanity at the end of Avengers: Endgame would have taught people to chill the fuck out and be nice to everyone because, guess what, half the universe could disappear in an instant. Unfortunately, that lesson didn't translate into the real world. Iron Man's real-life family, specifically the seven-year-old actress Lexi Rabe, has recently come under siege from disgruntled fans, both on and offline. It has gotten to be so disruptive to their lives that they had to take to social media to specifically ask people to stop harassing them.
James Gunn's upcoming quasi-reboot The Suicide Squad has gone through a tumultuous production, and it's barely begun shooting yet. There was that awful bad faith campaign launched by a mega MAGA chud to get the director fired from Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but also because one of Gunn's big players, Dave Bautista, had a loud feud with Disney over Gunn's termination, which also led to the wrestler's departure from that film.
Staff writer Josh Heath got to attend CD Projekt Red's hour-long hands-off demo of their upcoming RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, and he broke it all down for us.
Man, those fellas at Warner Brothers controlling all of the DC properties sure are having a rough go of it, aren't they? From the bombing of Justice League to, well, basically every single creative decision they've made, no good news has come from Gotham City or Metropolis as of late. Even more bad news came recently when, immediately after airing the pilot of Swamp Thing on DC Universe, WB's home for DCEU television offerings, the show was cancelled.
I was lucky enough to get a real in-depth look at Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's upcoming RPG title, last week during E3 2019. While I'll have an article up soon here detailing my hands-ff hour with the game, I still have to say my favorite part of the whole experience was the fact that Keanu Goshdarn Reeves, the internet's current boyfriend/hot dad/sexual obsession, would be playing a cyberghost named Johnny Silverhand who is lodged in your UI and has the most lines out of any single NPC in the game. The vision for the game didn't start off all star-studded, however. Keanu is more of a happy coincidence than anything else.
I've just returned to my Airbnb after three days of smiles, chuckles, gasps, and joy(cons) at E3 2019. My last day was certainly the most exciting. Not only did I have my best meetings, but I played the best games at the show, and no, none of them were Fallout 76 - sorry hopefuls. After such a busy, busy day, I believe it's only fair to share the ecstasy I felt during my hands-on time with Nintendo's fresh offerings. These are games from a company operating at the top of its, uh, game: Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword & Shield, and the reimagining of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
