After directing one of The Flash's best episodes earlier this year, Kevin Smith now has his sights set on another comic book property: Daredevil. Though nothing has been confirmed just yet, the director/writer has revealed that he'd love to helm an episode of the show one day.
Continuing on with their marketing barrage for Suicide Squad today is Warner Bros., who've released yet another TV spot for the highly anticipated DCEU film, which is set to arrive in just under two months. Though there's not really much, if anything, in the way of new footage here, this latest spot is still an enticing teaser for what's sure to be one of the most talked about movies of the summer.
Yesterday, a batch of set photos (seen above) from The Wolverine 3 hit the web, and while they didn't offer up anything too revealing, there is one thing that has everyone talking: the mysterious young woman in the last picture. The common theory points to her being Laura Kinney aka X-23, despite there being no confirmation yet that the character will appear in the film.
One of the biggest criticisms aimed at Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was that it simply wasn't "fun." Regardless of whether or not you agree with that sentiment, it's clear that Warner Bros. doesn't want the same sort of complaints to be levelled at Suicide Squad, hence why humour is the name of the game in these two new TV spots.
24's season eight finale left Jack Bauer's story on a very unsatisfying note, especially as the promised movie never came. 24: Live Another Day meanwhile was supposed to follow-up on that but ended in a similarly disappointing fashion, and now a completely unrelated spinoff is set to premiere in 2017 titled 24: Legacy starring Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins.
Gambit was supposed to be released in October, but the movie faced a serious delay when director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) parted ways with Fox over creative differences. Things soon started looking up for the Marvel Comics adaptation when Edge of Tomorrow's Doug Liman was hired to take over, but now the movie has been dealt yet another blow.
No one could have ever predicted the massive success of Deadpool, and had Fox realized what a hit they had on their hands (X-Men: Apocalypse won't end its domestic run with what this R-Rated movie made in around five days), you have to believe that the comic book adaptation wouldn't have spent years stuck in development hell.
Now that X-Men: Apocalypse has reached the big screen, 2016’s next big superhero movie (well, supervillain movie) is DC Comics adaptation Suicide Squad. With less than two months to go before it’s released, the marketing campaign has kicked off in style this past week, and following the release of that cool TV spot, a new batch of promo images have surfaced.
The cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to grow, with Kenneth Choi (The People vs. O.J. Simpson) the latest actor to join the cast. As with pretty much every other addition to this highly anticipated movie, no official details about who he's playing have been revealed, but Deadline mentions he will be the principal of Peter Parker's high school.
Captain America: Civil War is one of only two movies to gross over $1 billion at the worldwide box office (the other being Zootopia) this year, and while Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange stand a very good chance of being financial hits, chances are that they won't be able to reach that benchmark.
