It's not exactly a major revelation to say that the two-part Avengers: Infinity War is going to be a huge movie. If rumours are to be believed, Earth's Mightiest Heroes will team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos, while The Defenders could also end up factoring into things. Throw in the addition of some new cosmic characters, and the cast is going to be massive.
We're now roughly a month away from the release of Deadpool, and while that movie is set to tell the character's origin story, many fans are already looking ahead to what the future might hold in store for the Merc with the Mouth. If rumours about a sequel being released in the 2017 slot currently held by the Fantastic Four sequel are true, we might just see that become a reality sooner than expected, and there's one character who absolutely must be part of that.
Phase 3 of the MCU is kicking off with a game changing movie in the form of Captain America: Civil War, but it will also end with one when the two-part Avengers: Infinity War hits the big screen. The battle against Thanos is something Marvel has been building towards since 2012, and we're no doubt going to see plenty of huge moments and unexpected twists and turns when the film is released.
When it was first revealed that Chris Pine was in talks to join the DC Extended Universe, there were conflicting reports about who it would be as. Over the weekend at Wizard World New Orleans, the cast and crew of Captain America: Civil War made an appearance and while there, they took part in a Q&A session with fans. Nothing too groundbreaking was revealed, but director Joe Russo did potentially drop a massive spoiler.
Despite pushing 80, Ridley Scott is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. He gave us one of his best films in a very long time with 2015's The Martian, and is currently hard at work preparing the Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant. You'd be forgiven for thinking that the director would perhaps want to take a break after that. But not Sir Ridley.
2015 was an incredible year for superhero adaptations (so long as you pretend that Fantastic Four never happened), with the genre finding great success on both the big and small screens. With 2016 looking set to be even bigger thanks to the release of movies like Captain America: Civil War and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, not to mention TV shows like Luke Cage and Legends of Tomorrow, it's definitely a good time to be a comic book fan.
