Not to be outdone by their main competitor, Warner Bros. has used tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to premiere a brand new trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Previewed earlier this week on FOX's Gotham, the footage certainly does not disappoint, as it teases an absolutely epic showdown between the two icons.
With Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows) recently signing up to direct Thor: Ragnarok for Marvel Studios, the highly anticipated threequel has now found a writer. Thor and Thor: The Dark World scribes Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle previously worked on the screenplay, but now Stephany Folsom has been chosen to give it a polish.
The CW has released the first official images from the upcoming midseason finale of The Flash, and there are some very interesting reveals in them. By far the biggest is our first look at Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West. In this continuity, he's Iris West's brother and Joe's long lost son, and unlike his comic book counterpart, he appears to be roughly the same age as Barry Allen.
The CW has released the first official images from the midseason finale of Arrow, and while they're a little light on superhero costumes, there's still a lot here to be intrigued by here. For example, there appears to be some sort of attack during an event held by Oliver Queen as part of his mayoral campaign; could this be what leaves one of Team Arrow in the grave we saw near the start of the season?
The Sundance Film Festival has today revealed the 65 films which are going to make up the 2016 US and World Cinema Competition Dramatic and Documentary categories, along with those which make up the out-of-competition NEXT slate. This is a very diverse and interesting list, and one which Sundance Institute executive director Keri Putnam is clearly very excited to show off next year.
Last night's episode of The Flash was amazing, and while it did a great job of introducing characters like Vandal Savage and Hawkman, it didn't really set the stage for Legends of Tomorrow. That will likely come down to tonight's episode of Arrow, but it's actually going to be even more fun to see how Green Arrow and the Scarlet Speedster manage to stop Savage from killing Hawkgirl.
The first trailer for Captain America: Civil War offered only a glimpse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's take on the Superhuman Registration Act, but the recently released Phase 2 box set actually includes a page for fans to inspect. As you can see, it asks all current members of the New Avengers who assembled at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron to sign themselves over to government control.
Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned to ABC tonight, and while you have to feel for the show after it followed the incredible first part of this year's Arrow/The Flash crossover, it still did an awesome job of setting the stage for next week's midseason finale. Of course, with Agent Carter set to premiere in January, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won't actually return until March - a hellish wait for fans.
Following tonight's epic episode of The Flash, The CW has released a first look at tomorrow's instalment of Arrow, the second part of the crossover event which sets up DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

The description also confirms that Astra will be making a return, a character we haven't actually seen since the second episode when Supergirl clashed with her for the first time.
