This past weekend, Warner Bros. finally released the brand new trailer for Justice League, sending fans everywhere into a frenzy. After so many months of seeing next to nothing from what's without a doubt one of 2017's biggest films, it was nice to finally get an extended look at the tentpole. While it'd be prudent to deem Zack Snyder's upcoming blockbuster a surefire success based on the new preview alone, we will say that we're definitely feeling a whole lot more optimistic about it than we did before.
One of the best and most enjoyable relationships in comic books involves Spider-Man and Deadpool. The wall-crawler has teamed up with the Merc with a Mouth on multiple occasions and their love/hate dynamic has made for some very interesting reading over the years. While fans would love to see the two side by side in live-action, it's just not going to happen, especially as Marvel and Fox teaming up appears to be well outside the realm of possibility. However, a couple of very inventive fans have taken those new posters for Spider-Man: Homecoming and provided, well, an unexpected twist.
The fact that Deadpool 2 doesn't have a release date is surprising, to say the least. The first movie (which arrived in theatres last February) was a critical and commercial hit, and while a follow-up is definitely happening, we still don't know when exactly it's going to be with us.
It's been one heck of a week for fans of the DC Extended Universe. Warner Bros. first released a series of character posters and teasers before a brand new trailer uniting the Justice League found its way online yesterday morning. However, there was someone conspicuous by their absence!
Shooting on the pilot of Matt Nix's upcoming X-Men TV series is currently taking place, though outside of some major casting additions and the fact Bryan Singer is directing the episode, we know very little about Gifted (for example, that may not even be the official title).
Those of you who watch The Flash TV series will know all about Eobard Thawne. Better known as Reverse-Flash or Professor Zoom, he's the Scarlet Speedster's greatest enemy and their rivalry was taken to a whole new level when the villain travelled back in time and murdered Barry Allen's mother. That altered the timeline and put Barry on course to become the Flash (time travel is a confusing thing), but it also left his father Henry Allen behind bars and presumed guilty of the murder of his wife. As a result, the Fastest Man Alive has dedicated his life to proving his father's innocence in the eyes of the law.
Despite being a hugely popular character, Thor has yet to find success with his own solo movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both the original and its sequel, The Dark World, were fairly underwhelming affairs that are often considered to be some of the weaker entries into the franchise. Now, with Thor: Ragnarok gearing up to hit theatres in November, hopes are high that director Taika Waititi can turn things around.
Westworld has been off the air for several months already, but fans are still talking about that explosive finale. It's not hard to see why, either, as the shocking events of the episode left us with arguably even more questions than we had going into it. Admittedly, it did answer quite a bit, but there's still a lot that we have to ponder over as the long wait for season 2 continues.
Doctor Strange was in North American theatres for a total of nineteen weeks, and it's now being reported that the Marvel Studios release has ended that run with an impressive haul of $232 million. That's a solid number and one which guarantees that the Phase 3 film will receive a sequel in the very near future.
With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 getting closer and closer, some great marketing material from the Marvel Studios film is quickly finding its way online. The latest batch is comprised of a brand new banner along with two very colourful posters putting the spotlight on Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Yondu (Michael Rooker) - all of which can be seen in the gallery above.
