Black Panther boasts an excellent cast and among the talent on board is Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya. Understandably, he's excited to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in a recent chat with GQ, he heaped some very high praise on the Ryan Coogler-helmed release.
Though the past decade or so of his career has been spent teaming up with the likes of Thor, Captain America, the Hulk and more in order to protect earth from all kinds of different threats, Robert Downey Jr. still finds time for non-Marvel projects. Admittedly, they're few and far between, given that his commitment to the superhero franchise is so large, but as his role in the MCU starts to wind down, he's now looking to diversify a bit.
If you've seen Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and let's face it, by this point you have, you'll know full well that it was far from a conventional Star Wars movie. There are a few reasons for that, but one of the biggest is that our new heroes were all killed by the end. That's a risky decision to make for just about any film, let alone one coming from Disney, and in a recent interview with ComicBook.com, writer Gary Whitta revealed that he never thought he'd get away with such a thing.
We recently learned that Warner Bros. is planning on rebooting The Matrix, but it appears as if those reports may have been somewhat premature. Along with the reveal that Michael B. Jordan is being eyed to star, we heard that Zak Penn (Ready Player One) is writing a treatment and he's now taken to Twitter to make it clear that his take on the beloved property will neither reboot or remake the franchise.
When Marvel decided to launch a new Ghost Rider series with Johnny Blaze replaced by the car driving Robbie Reyes, the response was fairly mixed. As a result, that comic book didn't last particularly long, but when the character came to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the publisher decided to give Robbie another chance.
Darth Maul was introduced way back in 1999's Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, but since being killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi, the character has been brought back to the land of the living for both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
Logan seems to be all that anyone can talk about right now, and with good reason. Unique and quite unlike anything we've seen from comic book movies before, James Mangold delivered a stunning final outing for the clawed mutant, showing us that you don't need huge set pieces, a boatload of special effects or even a PG-13 rating to score a huge win in the genre. Thankfully, people are sitting up and taking notice of that and now, a whole host of superheroes look set to follow a similar path.
Logan has been more than successful enough to justify a sequel, but sadly, that's not going to happen. Hugh Jackman has decided to hang Wolverine's claws up for good now that his story has been told, but that's not going to stop the actor from sharing some cool new content on social media from his time playing the iconic mutant.
With Avengers: Infinity War set to be released next year, you'd think that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would dedicate much of its running time to setting up that highly anticipated release. After all, the team is expected to play a pivotal role there and Thanos is a villain that they have some history with. However, director James Gunn has now made it clear that the sequel is going to be a self-contained story. While it could still set the stage for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the now confirmed post-credits scene, don't expect a great deal of world building in the film itself.
Marvel has been teasing the return of their legacy heroes for some time now, and while we have no idea what exactly the Marvel Universe will look like following the events of Secret Empire, it appears as if Sam Wilson will no longer be wielding the shield as Captain America. Instead, he looks set to return to being the Falcon during the event, something which is evident from the images in the gallery above.
