When the logo for Thor: Ragnarok was first revealed, most fans were confused by the 1980s inspired visual aesthetic. Since then, set photos have made it clear that the movie has taken cues from the artwork of Walt Simonson, but now some changes have been made it seems, bringing it more in line with the amazingly trippy 1960s artwork by Jack Kirby that's also featured on the T-shirt down below.
Though John Wick: Chapter 2 hasn't even released yet, the filmmakers are already looking ahead to what might come next for the titular hitman. A third entry seems all but confirmed at this stage but beyond that, it sounds like Lionsgate may also be looking to take the action series to the small screen.
Around a decade ago, Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller was set to take the helm of an animated Justice League movie along the lines of The Polar Express. A number of actors were cast (including rumoured DC Films Universe actor Armie Hammer as Batman), and Common looked set to play the Green Lantern, John Stewart.
The DC Extended Universe suffered a devastating blow this week when, after much back and forth, Ben Affleck finally decided to give up the director's chair on The Batman. It wasn't terribly surprising, given how hesitant he's been in recent months about taking on the job, but it's certainly bad news for Warner Bros. and the fans. Now, as the studio scrambles to find a replacement, everyone and their grandmother is putting forth their picks.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Wan's Aquaman has found its Black Manta today in the form of The Get Down star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The actor is in early talks to take on the villainous role, one which will see him on screen alongside an already impressive cast that includes Jason Momoa in the titular role, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson.
For months now, Ben Affleck has been on the fence about directing The Batman. After the disappointment of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and just the overall negative response to the DC Extended Universe thus far, it's not hard to see why Big Ben's been having doubts. However, we all expected him to be able to settle his differences with Warner Bros. and proceed with getting behind the camera for the project.
Variety is reporting tonight that Rogue One's Diego Luna will star in the upcoming Scarface remake, which previously had Antoine Fuqua attached to direct. We say 'previously' because we're now hearing that the filmmaker has departed the project. From what we understand, Sony and Denzel Washington are eager to get The Equalizer 2 off the ground and as such, Fuqua won't have time for Universal's film anymore, which is certainly a shame.
We recently learned that Rick Cosnett is returning to The Flash in season 3, and while details on what exactly he'll be getting up to are unknown, the actor is already shooting his scenes - as evidenced by the images below. As you can see, they don't reveal much at all, but it appears as if we can expect to see Eddie interacting with a lot of familiar faces.
Daddy's Home may have received mixed reviews from critics when it was released back in 2015, but it was a hit at the box office with a worldwide total of $240 million on a budget of just $70 million. That's fairly impressive for a comedy, and enough of a haul that it took no time at all for there to be talk of a sequel.
With the DC Extended Universe having struggled throughout 2016, many DC Comics fans seemed to have resigned themselves to the fact that The LEGO Batman Movie will be the only comic book adaptation from Warner Bros. which lives up to expectations this year. It's still a bit too early to make claims like that, of course, but the spinoff definitely looks promising.
