Widely acknowledged as one of the best animated comedies currently on the air, the wait for Rick and Morty season 3 has proven to be agonizing for fans. For starters, things ended on a cliffhanger, and the show has now been off the air since October 2015. That's a huge gap, and despite a funny sneak peek being released not too long ago, it still has no premiere date
Despite the fact that Doctor Strange was a huge box office success, we've heard nothing official about a sequel. Of course, with Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme set to appear in both Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War, the extremely busy actor not being able to immediately commit to a follow-up does make sense.
A new batch of images from Logan have found their way online today courtesy of Empire Magazine, and they offer up another interesting look at what's to come in the highly anticipated movie from director James Mangold. For starters, we get a shot of Wolverine chomping on a cigar, a scene which instantly brings the work of artists like Frank Miller and John Romita Jr. to mind.
It's been a bit hit and miss for Marvel when it comes to the small screen. For every knockout like Daredevil, there's also a letdown like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Not that it's necessarily a horrible television show, but it certainly hasn't lived up to its potential and the ratings are proof of that. However, the studio keeps trucking on and in the near future, they'll be bringing us two new series. One is The Runaways, which is set to debut on Hulu, while the other is Cloak And Dagger, which is coming to Freeform and heads into production next month.
Walter Hill is a long ways away from his heyday. Though he's been responsible for bringing us some truly enjoyable films like The Warriors and 48 Hrs., not to mention holding producing credits on the Alien franchise, he hasn't been terribly active in recent years. His last outing behind the camera was the decent Sylvester Stallone-led actioner Bullet to the Head. That was back in 2012, but now he's back with a new movie titled The Assignment, and today we've got the first trailer for it.
While it didn't matter so much when the first X-Men movie was released, fans have really rallied against the utilitarian black leather costumes worn by the heroes in Bryan Singer's early films. That's been reflected in the team getting some proper superhero costumes at the end of both X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool, but what about Logan?
We've been hearing rumblings that Avengers: Infinity War would start shooting today for a while now, but directors Joe and Anthony Russo have taken to Facebook to make it official. If you were expecting them to kick things off with a first look at Earth's Mightiest Heroes battling Thanos though, you may be a bit disappointed.
While an interesting, albeit low-res image found its way online earlier today, Warner Bros. seems to be taking their time when it comes to revealing anything new about Justice League. With Wonder Woman set to be released in June and Snyder's effort not scheduled to arrive until November, it does make sense for the studio to be holding back like they are, though it doesn't seem to be stopping fans from getting antsy.
We're only a few weeks away now from the return of Keanu Reeves' badass hitman. Yes, we're referring to John Wick: Chapter 2, the upcoming sequel from Lionsgate which just might be the sleeper hit of the year. It may not be as big of a spectacle as say Justice League, or boast the budget of Jurassic World 2, but it will no doubt be able to hold its own against them and any other blockbuster released in 2017. That much we're sure of.
In this current age of television revivals, it really seems like almost a no brainer to bring back Lost. Premiering in 2004, the hit ABC show ran for 6 seasons and quickly became one of the hottest properties across any medium thanks to its captivating plot and never ending mysteries, which gripped viewers week in and week out. Its impact on pop culture was enormous and even though the ratings slid near the end, it remains as one of the most important television shows of the last few decades.
