Earlier today, The Wrap reported on a shortlist for Warner Bros.' Green Lantern Corps. According to them, Tom Cruise, Joel McHale, Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper were in contention for the role of Hal Jordan. The outlet cited an unnamed source as for how they received their information, and while digging for more, we uncovered an additional name that's said to be up for the role.
During the events of Original Sin, Nick Fury whispered something in Thor's ear which left him unable to wield Mjolnir. However, following the events of Secret Wars, the "Unworthy" Thor has his sights set on the hammer once held by his Ultimate Universe counterpart.
Earlier today, the amazing final trailer for Logan was released and it's fair to say that the movie is shaping up to be one of 2017's most exciting releases. Now, to accompany that latest preview we have two cool new images along with a familiar poster boasting a fresh tagline. Based on how good this movie looks, Wolverine's time more than likely has come!
Never say never, right? We don't want to get too excited just yet, but it seems like Guillermo del Toro may be making some progress in his quest to get Hellboy III off the ground. Nothing's been confirmed or set in stone at this time, but taking to Twitter tonight, the director said that him and star Ron Perlman will be sitting down with creator Mike Mignola shortly to discuss the next steps.
One of the coolest moments in the final trailer for Logan came when Wolverine could be seen leafing through one of X-23's X-Men comic books. It was here that we finally got to see the hero wearing a version of his classic yellow and blue costume, and while he was quick to dismiss the stories as fiction, fans are now wondering about the chances of seeing the costume in live-action.
Powerless may have recently turned Alan Tudyk's character into Bruce Wayne's cousin Van Wayne, but it doesn't sound like we should expect to see the Dark Knight make an appearance in the NBC sitcom. That was made official by executive producer Justin Halpern at the Television Critics Association's press tour yesterday.
Monsters were a big part of comic books in the Golden Age, but they've somewhat faded into the background since then. A bunch of them have still appeared over the years, though, and Marvel is now bringing them back in a big way with their Monsters Unleashed event series from writer Cullen Bunn and artist Steve McNiven. While that's already great news in and of itself, we're now hearing that the event series will be followed by an ongoing series which picks up directly after.
It sounds like the DC Extended Universe just got a MASSIVE shot in the arm. Dwayne Johnson, also known around Hollywood as franchise viagra (and for good reason), has received his own film. The studio's made the smart decision to have him headline an upcoming feature as Black Adam rather than just have him appear as the character in Shazam, which was the original plan. Word on the street is that they intend to get things into motion pretty quickly and now, we may know why.
Lionsgate has just released a brand new trailer for their upcoming Power Rangers reboot and this time, they've significantly lightened the mood. Whereas the last preview brought with it a dark and gritty tone, this footage shows off a lot of the humor and lightheartedness that you'll find in the film.
Powerless was originally envisioned as a workplace comedy revolving around employees of an insurance company dealing with the mess caused by super-powered battles. It's a premise not all that different to Marvel and ABC's planned Damage Control series, and that could explain why the show has now been completely rebooted ahead of its premiere next month.
