Speaking to Digital Spy, Ubisoft Montreal senior producer Dominic Guay confirmed that Watch Dogs on the Wii U will be "feature comparable" with the other version of the game, however, the development team is still trying to figure out the best way to use the console's GamePad controller.
Sony's PlayStation 4 reveal last week brought with it a massive list of 96 companies that were said to be currently developing games for the company's upcoming next generation console. The list originally included 53 European studios, however, Sony has now issued a revision that cuts that number by almost half.
Bugbear Entertainment has teased a new demolition derby-style game on their website, that is currently being developed under the working title "Next Car Game". While it is unclear exactly what the final game will be called, the teaser video seems to suggest that we could be looking at a reboot for either the Destruction Derby or FlatOut series.
Hearing that Polyphony Digital is working on Gran Turismo 6 is not all that surprising, as most of us have assumed that the developer started work on the title shortly after Gran Turismo 5 launched back in November 2010. What is a bit surprising, is that a Sony executive seems to have let it slip that the game is actually in development for the PlayStation 3, and not the recently announced PlayStation 4.
Last week Sony announced that they were going to cut the price for both the Wi-Fi and 3G models of the PlayStation Vita in Japan to 19,980 yen (approximately $212 US) -- which is down from 24,980 yen ($266 US) for the Wi-Fi model, and 29,980 yen ($319 US) for the 3G model. Speaking to Famitsu, as translated by Polygon, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Hiroshi Kawano admitted that the move is largely due to lower than expected sales of the handheld.
After 17 weeks of teasers that barely scratched the surface of what Mew-Genics is really about, Team Meat has finally pulled back the curtain on their game about cats to reveal that it is basically a strange (and at times sad) "Cat Lady Sim".
While the bulk of Nintendo's efforts were focused on the Wii U launch last year, the company did manage to almost silently launch a smaller (and extremely bare bones) version of the Wii, the Wii Mini, in Canada a few weeks before the Christmas holiday. At the time, Nintendo would only confirm the launch of the system in Canada, but we are now seeing signs that it might also head to Europe at some point.
Ahead of Microsoft's expected reveal of their next generation Xbox console -- which is rumored to be taking place sometime this April -- the company has been engaging in a very aggressive effort to pick up every possible "Xbox Gold" related domain.
Thanks to all the leaks and accurate rumors, Sony's PlayStation 4 event this week held very few surprises, however, there were a couple of announcements that nobody saw coming. One of those, was the reveal that Jonathan Blow's open-world puzzle game, The Witness, would be a timed exclusive for the next generation console. Blow has since taken to his website to clarify how the highly-anticipated indie game found its way to the PS4, and he also hinted that his deal with Sony does not exclude the possibility of a "PC or iOS at launch".
One of the most impressive -- and to be perfectly honest, the most unbelievable -- videos shown during Sony's PlayStation 4 debut event this past week was a trailer highlighting Capcom's latest intellectual property, deep down (working title), and the new Panta Rhei engine that powers the game.
