Love him or hate him, there's no doubt that Julian Assange and the WikiLeaks story is perfect fodder for a movie. That movie is called The Fifth Estate and it stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the silver-haired Dane who made headlines for leaking government and business secrets online for all the world to see. But Assange himself is not all that happy about The Fifth Estate, even going so far as to write a letter to Cumberbatch, begging him not to make the movie. True to form, Assange himself leaked that letter and now you too can read it in advance of seeing the film.

I want to know who we can hold responsible for the found-footage subgenre. Admittedly, there have been a few films that made excellent use of the concept (the first Paranormal Activity springs to mind), but for every found-footage film there have been three that are simply dire (most of the other four Paranormal Activity films). Like so many trends that annoy me, it's not going anywhere, and now the Friday the 13th franchise will be given the found-footage treatment.
